Happy International Women in Engineering Day! Although my current role is far from matrix algebra, differential equations, vector calculus, etc, I strongly believe that an engineering background can be highly advantageous in a procurement role for several reasons: ✅ Technical Understanding: I find it straightforward to grasp product specifications and essential technical standards ✅ Problem Solving: I thrive when I have to solve a problem and statistically it is proven that engineers have strong problem-solving skills ✅ Optimization: Engineering skills can help optimize procurement processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency ✅ Innovation and Adaptability: Engineers independent of the role stay ahead of emerging technologies, which can inform procurement strategies and decisions. When I was immersed in advanced math and engineering classes at Illinois Institute of Technology together with André Rehkopf Paulina Zharare, I never imagined that one day these skills would be saving the day in making sure our procurement processes are as smooth as they can be! Who knew Pythagoras had a side hustle in sourcing optimization? #womaninengineering #PepsiCo #procurement #supplychain #sourcing
Happy International Women in Engineering Day! I’m proud and honored to work in Engineering alongside so many amazing and brilliant women. The future is bright for all the young girls today that are being supported in their curiosity and passion for STEM. #INWED24 #PepsiCo #PepsiCoSWE

🌟 Celebrating International Women’s Day - Women in Engineering 🌟 Today, we're shining a spotlight on the incredible women in our lives, and in particular those who are making waves in the engineering sector! 💡🔧 Engineering has long been considered a male-dominated field, but times are changing, and women are breaking barriers, shattering stereotypes, and leaving an indelible mark on the industry. Why is it so important to celebrate and encourage women in engineering? Here are just a few reasons: 🌟Diverse Perspectives: Women bring unique perspectives and problem-solving approaches to the table, enhancing innovation and creativity within the field. 🌟 Representation Matters: By showcasing successful women in engineering, we inspire future generations of young girls to pursue their passions in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). 🌟 Addressing Global Challenges: From sustainable infrastructure to renewable energy solutions, women engineers are at the forefront of tackling some of the world's most pressing challenges. 🌟 Closing the Gender Gap: Encouraging more women to pursue careers in engineering helps to bridge the gender gap in STEM fields, promoting equality and diversity in the workplace. 🌟 Building a Better Future: Ultimately, the contributions of women in engineering are instrumental in building a brighter, more inclusive future for all. And whilst we’re talking about female trailblazers, we have to mention Dianne who founded Apex Recruitment in 1978. So, let's celebrate the women who are shaping the world through engineering, and let's continue to champion diversity and inclusion in the STEM community! 💪🚀 #Internationalwomensday #WomenInEngineering #DiversityInSTEM #Innovation #Empowerment

Chartering/Operations/Business Development, ENEA MANAGEMENT INC • President, WISTA International (Women in Shipping & Trading Association)
23rd June is #INWED24 (International Women in Engineering Day). Launched by the Women's Engineering Society some 11 years ago, this annual celebration supports and encourages young women and girls to take up #engineering careers – and is clearly a worthwhile initiative (2021 figures indicate that in the UK, just 16.5% of engineers are women). These global initiatives, in all industry sectors, are vital for our future. We know that women in technical roles are hugely under-represented; bringing awareness to this, whilst promoting the various roles that exist is a step towards encouraging women to be bold and follow the career path of their choosing, whatever the challenges along the way. https://www.inwed.org.uk/ #WISTA WISTA International #WomenInMaritime #DiversityandInclusion #DEI #WomeninTechnology
