The Austere Environment Consortium of Enhanced Sepsis Outcomes (ACESO) and the Henry M. Improving Cost-Effectiveness of TB Screening with New Tools – Asia (ICE-Screen TB Asia) Deadline 18 July 2024 We will consider funding for applicants who meet the following criteria: Collaborative teams including TB programs, implementers, and researchers.Willing to conduct implementation research integrated into an existing, funded community-based screening programs in high TB burden countries of Asia, which are conducing community-based mass screening adults and adolescents, irrespective of symptoms or clinical/demographic risk factors. The primary grantee and scientific leadership must come from high TB burden countries, although international collaborators as funded consortium members are acceptable. >85% of the overall grant funding must be spent in the primary country. Projects in Asia, consisting of the following countries: Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, Vietnam, and Nepal. https://lnkd.in/gNiHkV28

Today marks the beginning of 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤, a time for us to reflect, advocate, and take action on cancer care. As a cancer survivor and activist focused on the sociological and psychosocial aspects of cancer, I want to highlight some urgent issues, especially in Malta. Cancer cases in Malta are rising alarmingly 📈. This reality touches all of us through our families, friends, and colleagues. It's time stakeholders discuss not just medical care, but also essential social support. Key areas needing attention: 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 💰: We need robust allowances and schemes for those affected by cancer. Financial stability is crucial for patients to focus on recovery without income loss. 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 🏢: Greater workplace flexibility is vital for patients, survivors, and caregivers. Flexible hours, remote work, and employer understanding can significantly improve their lives. 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🎓: Ensure young cancer patients or their loved ones can continue their education seamlessly. Online classes should be available for those undergoing treatment, whether at home or abroad. During this European Cancer Week, let’s commit to these changes and create a more supportive environment for cancer patients and their families. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥; 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥.
