I’ve been out of healthcare now for about seven years. However, as a technology leader who counts many healthcare providers and payers, pharma companies, health information networks and state healthcare-related agencies as former clients and employers and a former President of two HIMSS chapters I remain curious and have many thoughts about how technology can enable and enhance the consumer/patient journey. I concur Edward Marx that all patients deserve and should expect a great experience. However, we know that scenario often falls woefully short again and again despite the availability of new technology. Having attended six HIMSS annual conferences and numerous health innovation summits and having led the production and presentation of the three year Healthcare2020 conference in Pittsburgh in 2012-2014 I recall many many many conversations about health care interoperability, yet the realization of the benefits of same remain elusive to the world’s most capable health care companies across the United States. I plan to pickup this book and devote some time to a read of it. Thanks for sharing Ed!
