It doesn’t matter how talented and fired up you are; you’re human, so your levels of motivation will ebb and flow from moment to moment and day to day. MOTIVATION IS BASED ON EMOTIONS, and unless you’re a robot, you will experience swings that can impact your output and results. You can still be wildly successful, but if you rely primarily on the energy that motivation gives you, you’re operating below peak capacity. However, when you pair motivation with DISCIPLINE, you create a framework that combines two ESSENTIAL QUALITIES to propel you in the right direction at maximum SPEED and EFFICIENCY. Discipline is critical because it allows you to… See the BIGGER PICTURE. Develop the right skills and talents. Focus on the PROCESS, not the outcome. Be insanely CONSISTENT. And minimize impacts on your output when you’re not motivated.

This is a big reason why I have become verrrrry cautious of what 'gets' my energy and attention. Is it just to 'fire' me up? (motivation) Or to increase my discipline? (dedication)

It's essential to understand the difference between results-driven and process-driven. When you're seeking results, you'll most likely end up disappointed when you don't get them. If you're process-driven, it takes discipline, determination, and resilience to keep taking the steps to improve! That's just my two cents.

This statement emphasizes the importance of combining motivation with discipline to achieve maximum effectiveness and success. Here's a breakdown of the key points: 1. **Motivation is based on emotions:** Acknowledges that motivation can fluctuate based on emotions and external factors. It's a natural human experience to have highs and lows in motivation levels. 2. **Relying on motivation alone is insufficient:** While motivation is important, relying solely on it may lead to inconsistent performance and results. It's not always reliable and may not sustain over the long term. 3. **Pairing motivation with discipline:** Suggests that discipline is essential for maximizing potential and achieving goals. Discipline provides a structured framework for consistent action, regardless of fluctuations in motivation. 4. **Benefits of discipline:** Highlights several benefits of discipline, including seeing the bigger picture, skill development, focusing on the process, maintaining consistency, and mitigating the impact of low motivation periods on output.

🎯 Discipline is the steady engine that drives us towards our goals, while motivation acts as the occasional boost. This blend ensures we’re not solely dependent on our fluctuating moods but instead are anchored by robust, consistent action.

Yes and you won't always be disciplined either. This is where setting up your environmental triggers becomes helpful to keep you consistent long term.

When all else fails you have to look beyond motivation because there are many days where motivation doesn't come easy. What you must do is find the mindset to be committed and consistent at something until it becomes a lifestyle. That commitment and consistency will lead to discipline and that will lead to great results. Don't wait to be motivated, do it because you're excited about seeing what your life could be if you made a change.

In the context of recruitment, it's crucial to identify candidates driven by genuine motivation for the job, indicating a true alignment with their professional interests. Evaluating their demonstrated discipline in previous projects not only offers insights into their past performance but also serves as a predictor of their ability to navigate future challenges and achieve results. You could ask a candidate the following. "Reflecting on your past experiences, please share a specific project where the nature of the work motivated you. Describe the challenges you faced and the discipline you maintained to overcome obstacles or meet tight deadlines. Finally, elaborate on the tangible outcomes of the project, highlighting your direct contributions to its success and any specific metrics that showcase the impact of your efforts."

“. LEARN To ALWAYS Be DISCIPLINED” “You Will NEVER ALWAYS Be MOTIVATED” “SELF-DISCIPLINE : A Quick Guide to Becoming More DISCIPLINED” - “Discipline encompasses #training people to #adhere to certain #behaviors and #rules . The definition of self-discipline is similar, except that we turn these efforts inward and #trainourselves to #control our #behavior , #mind , and #body over time. That's what staying disciplined is about.” - “Learning discipline isn’t a destination or a yardstick: it’s a #practice . #Practices never end, but we do become more #skilled .” - Learning how to become #disciplined requires #deliberate practice, just like self-love or facing our fears. Motivation is a terrible thing to bank on. How many times have you heard "i want to start but I am not motivated yet" Well.... that new job you started won't pay you up front to come in and see how you do. The universe isn't going to provide you with results just because you feel entitled to them. Motivation is earned, it's the catalyst not the kindling to start the fire.
