simple, straightforward and in English... doable as we design and plan innovative programmes to mitigation and resilience.
The world is facing a pervasive — and mounting — water crisis: 💧 Communities have either too little water or at times too much. 💧 And the water isn’t always clean. 💧 The ecosystems and infrastructure that sustain water resources are vulnerable to disruptions. 💧 And although access to freshwater has improved over time, climate change is threatening to halt, or even reverse, this progress. Governments cannot fix the problem alone; they must work with the private sector and nonprofit groups to promote and adopt a holistic approach to water resilience. Learn more about this approach in our white paper, written in collaboration with World Wildlife Fund. https://lnkd.in/e-CuCmyB

Today we observe Earth Hour – an annual worldwide movement by the World Wildlife Fund, encouraging everyone to turn off non-essential electric lights from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Earth Hour spotlights the climate crisis, the loss of nature, and inspires people to act and advocate for change. Acuitas was recently awarded Climate Positive designation for 2023. As individuals and as a company, we are committed to making change in how we do business so that we can continue to make improvements in this area. When we all do our part to protect the environment, we can make big change in the world. Learn about what you can do here: https://lnkd.in/dvteQdJc. #acuitastherapeutics #earthhour #climatechange

This aims to be the biggest ever UK gathering for nature and climate with tens of thousands of people marching shoulder to shoulder for our natural world. We’ll be taking a simple but serious message to our politicians, urging them to take the actions needed to Restore Nature Now. The UK is one of the most nature-depleted places on the planet, and it’s only getting worse. 📉 This year’s #StateofNature report shows that our precious wildlife and wild spaces are disappearing. Threats including pollution, habitat loss, and our changing climate are having an effect on our natural world, which is why we're joining The Wildlife Trusts in calling on our politicians to ensure that nature recovery is reflected in all policies ahead of the next election. It's time to put wildlife first. Find out more about our priorities for the next UK Government here: https://lnkd.in/eZD4AQuB #NatureRecovery #Environment #RestoreNatureNow

Looking to give a gift to a loved one or colleague this holiday season? There's no better gift than the one that gives back to our planet. When it comes to providing a lifetime of benefits, trees are the gift that keep on giving. Every year, they can look back and smile as they think about how their tree is growing and helping wildlife, ecosystems, local communities, and the climate. Give back to the planet this holiday season, and give the gift of trees. 🌲 https://shorturl.at/hoH16

☘️World Wetlands Day is celebrated on February 2 to raise awareness about the vital role that wetlands play in our lives. From providing clean water and food supporting wildlife and mitigating climate change. Wetlands not only play an important role in the environment, they also have a significant impact on human health and well-being. Covering about 6 percent of the Earth's surface; wetlands are vital to the health of communities around the world, providing many benefits such as clean water (acting as natural filters, removing pollutants and sediments from water), food, medicine, flood control, provide habitat for thousands of species of aquatic and terrestrial plants and animals— enabling diversity. Join us in celebrating World Wetlands Day by learning more about the wetlands in your area and taking action to protect them. Together, we can make a difference for our communities and for future generations💫 #FONN #Ecosystemrestoration #Generationrestoration #Naturepositiveuniversities

The area surrounding Bethel is one of Maine’s biggest recreational hubs thanks to its proximity to Sunday River Ski Resort, but the town itself lacked a community green space. So we created the Bethel Community Forest, consisting of 1,500 acres of forested land and a network of trails. Community Forests bring important health, environmental, and economic benefits to their communities, but they face unprecedented threats such as real estate development, unsustainable timber harvesting, and—worst of all—severe climate change-driven megafires. Help us protect more of America’s forests by acting today. https://lnkd.in/eDAuzZWf

https://lnkd.in/dTF5Sb_A It was a great experience to cover the #restorenaturenow march, organised by Extinction Rebellion, RSPB, The Wildlife Trusts, The Climate Coalition, WWF-UK, National Trust and The Woodland Trust, for Church Times last Saturday, bringing together two of the subjects closest to my heart – faith and ecology. Although we think of ourselves as a green and pleasant land of birdwatchers and newt fanciers, the UK is actually one of the most devastatingly nature-depleted countries in the world. The Government is only on track to meet four out of the 40 commitments that they made to restoring our ecosystems. If we don’t curb the decline, we are heading towards ecological collapse at an alarming speed. This is a biological, social, political, and spiritual emergency. We MUST vote with climate and nature policies in mind on July the 4th, and hold the next Government to account to do better.

These are some very alarming statistics we should all be concerned about here on planet #Earth. Global wildlife populations have plummeted 69% since 1970, and this is accelerated annually with a percentage of over 2%. What percentage rate has this been for Papua New Guinea and what is our annual depletion rate? #PNG #PapuaNewGuinea #worldbiodiversity #climatechange #climatechangeeffects #CodeRed #biodiversity #wildlife #WWF
The WWF has said its findings are ‘code red for the planet’. Learn more about protecting wildlife⬇️ https://lnkd.in/enmaNT2a Via World Economic Forum
