Principal Client Manager | Client Relationship Management & Growth | Talk to me if you need support with your recruitment!
Following on from my previous post, I've been thinking about sustainability and how it links to technology and digital change. There's an obvious push from consumers (as well as government regulation) for companies to ramp up sustainability efforts. Technology is going to be really important for organisations to be able to come sustainable. AI is going to be at the heart of tech change in 2024 and I really think it'll play a big part in sustainability: 🍃 Data on tracking and reporting using AI tools - this could be on carbon emissions, usage, and potential savings opportunities or things like capacity calculations for long-term haulage 🍃 Process and product innovations - anything from intelligent grids and storage and discovering sustainable materials to building more ecologically efficient buildings 🍃Consumer modelling to reduce wastage - AI would be able to crawl through data for anything from inventory levels and weather forecasts to social media trends to predict consumer behaviour and optimise production levels. 🍃 Probably where I see some of the biggest potential - it encourages interaction and relationship-building to deploy solutions. It will also help show adherence to ESG standards for suppliers, which can greatly impact relationship quality. I'd love to hear people's thoughts. As I mentioned in my last post, I see a lot of chat about sustainability and a lot of chat about AI, but to me I think the key could really lie in putting an 'and' between them. #sustainability #ESG #AI

The Microgrid Mentor | Follow to learn about microgrids, EVSE, hydrogen hubs | Help cities/municipalities integrate microgrids, EV charging and hydrogen hubs
Mind blown. 🌍💡 I thought I had the convergence of AI and sustainability all figured out. Spoiler: I was wrong. Here’s why: 1. **Energy Efficiency Unlocked**: I used to think AI was a power-hungry beast. Turns out, it’s teaching us how to optimize energy use in ways I never imagined. From smart grids to precision agriculture, AI is the unsung hero of reducing waste. 2. **Climate Modeling Revolution**: Forget the old-school climate models. AI’s predictive capabilities are on another level, offering insights that are reshaping our approach to climate change. It's like having a crystal ball that actually works. 3. **Circular Economy Catalyst**: Here’s where I was way off. AI isn’t just about making things smarter; it’s making sustainability scalable. From material recycling to supply chain enhancements, AI-driven solutions are making the circular economy a tangible reality, not just a buzzword. 4. **Biodiversity Protection**: AI is out there, in the wild, saving species I didn’t even know were at risk. From tracking poacher activity with drones to monitoring deforestation, AI is the unexpected guardian of our planet’s biodiversity. 5. **Sustainable Urban Planning**: Last on my list but definitely not the least. AI is helping design cities of the future today - optimizing everything from traffic flow to energy consumption, making urban areas not just more livable but sustainably so. I was wrong about the limits of AI in sustainability. But, I’m excited to be wrong because the future looks brighter than I thought. Let’s discuss. What other unexpected ways do you see AI driving sustainability forward?
