At the closure of our SDG journey, we once again explore higher spheres through earth observation. SDG15 – Life on land Our partner-companies eLEAF and NEO BV Netherlands use earth observation techniques to analyze terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems and detect deforestation. We actively help in the backend by managing the large data lakes needed for those analyses, and using GenAI to easier query those data sets of satellite images. In addition, we have our own Itility food forest to show that this type of biodiverse ecosystems can be a viable and profitable way of forest management and food production. #SDG15 #LifeOnLand #EarthObservation #Sustainability #TechForGood

Our IoT-based early warning system for forest fires leverages low-cost sensors and advanced predictive modelling to detect and prevent wildfires in vulnerable areas, such as the Borjom-Kharagauli forest-park. By monitoring key environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, and air quality in real-time, our system can identify potential fire risks and issue timely alerts to authorities and local communities, enabling rapid response and mitigation efforts. Through continuous data collection and analysis, we aim to minimize the impact of wildfires on forest ecosystems, wildlife habitats, and surrounding communities, while preserving the natural beauty and biodiversity of the Borjomi-Kharagauli forest-park.

While the first forest fire of the 2024 season destroyed almost 600 ha in the South of France, AXA Digital Commercial Platform and AXA en France are standing out by launching 'AXA Wildfire' with the French start-up Kayrros. This solution, based on cutting-edge technologies such as geospatial analytics and Artificial Intelligence, helps our customers to better understand and limit their exposure to forest fires. New for 2024: our early-warning system and propagation model help optimize response during forest fires, and thus better protect our customers.
