Chief Executive Officer at Presence

Wow - EdTech Company “CEO of the Year” - thank you #EdTechBreakthrough! And thank you to the entire Presence team for your unwavering commitment to delivering sustainable impact to schools and students. When I joined Presence in 2019, I was inspired by the company's mission and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students, schools, and clinicians by using technology to support special education-related and mental health services. Over the past 5+ years, we have achieved significant milestones, including surpassing 6 million teletherapy sessions delivered and building a majority-female leadership team. I am proud to lead a company that not only innovates in the field of teletherapy but also reflects the communities we serve. Congratulations to the many great companies including our Presence partner Stride, Inc. and my former work home Kaplan, who were recognized in other EdTech Breakthrough award categories!

We are thrilled to announce that our CEO, Kate Eberle Walker, has been named EdTech Company CEO of the Year in the 6th Annual EdTech Breakthrough Awards! This recognition is a testament to Kate's visionary leadership and her unwavering passion for serving schools to ensure they have the best resources possible to meet their students’ needs. “In education, ‘breakthrough’ ideas take years of effort and validation to deliver sustainable impact, and Presence has built its strategy over many years,” Eberle Walker. “Since 2009, we have been on a mission to demonstrate the benefits of teletherapy to school special education programs, building a leading network of clinical professionals supported by our cutting-edge teletherapy platform. We believe that because of our work, more diverse learners have been served, and more clinicians have benefitted from career paths with remote work. It’s a great honor to be recognized as a breakthrough leader of a breakthrough company.” Under Kate’s leadership, Presence recently celebrated a major milestone – delivering its 6 millionth teletherapy session to students. Kate has also ushered in a new era of leadership at Presence, achieving majority-female leadership positions across its executive team. This accomplishment reflects Presence’s commitment to serve its majority-female stakeholders, including its employee base, provider network and educator community. Please join us in congratulating Kate on this well-deserved recognition and celebrating her incredible impact on the field of education technology!
