As a young attorney, the trajectory of my career took an invaluable turn when I had the privilege to serve on the governing board of the Pipeline to Practice Foundation, Inc. . For me, this wasn’t just a board position. . It was an education. . I discovered firsthand what board governance truly entailed, mastered the art of fundraising for social impact initiatives, and harnessed my platform to amplify the program’s mission and value. . Much of the work I do at Firm for the Culture now is attributed to what I learned then. . Though my active P2P board days are behind me I now proudly wear the badge of an Alum, I am excited to see the growth Don Macaulay has lead as the organizational Executive Director. . Continuing that tradition of elevating voices and diversifying our profession, I'm exhilarated to share the Pipeline to Practice Foundation’s 2023 Impact Statement. . This afternoon, a select group of local Property Managers got together for a BOMA Columbus Ohio (Official) VIP round table event with our Membership Committee to gain feedback on how #BOMA can provide more value to our members. ♥️ Over the dedicated two hours, the team deep dived into a series questions getting to the core of what makes BOMA great, how it compares to other associations, topics that are important to property managers, things that we can improve on, ideas on education efforts, and how we can add more value to attract newer property managers to the industry providing support to help grow them professionally. There was a ton of rich dialog, candid feedback, innovative ideas proposed, and passion around making BOMA even more amazing!!! We have a lot of exciting things planned for 2024!!! Where in the world is Jessica Medina? (Do you hear the Carmen Sandiego theme yet?) I’m on my way to Denver for the next Let’s Do Dinner event but had a quick connection in a city that houses some of my favorite people. Fiona may be parked near a vineyard, but that doesn’t mean I have to be! Freedom and travel and location independence are some of my core values. So even in this phase of life where my husband needs to stay put so he can learn everything he needs to about how to start & run a vineyard, I’ll just fly instead of drive. These are the questions we’re going to be diving into at the Breakthrough Retreat for Women Lawyers. (Not the vineyard stuff, well unless someone wants to start one cuz I can help!) It’s important to recognize your OWN set of core values so you can build an intentional life around them, rather than staying stuck in service to what someone else believes is important.
