Did you know that sunflower is also more than a tasty treat? Sunflowers can be used for wounds, illnesses, and even dental issues. Generally, the entire Sunflower plant can be used and eaten. Be careful of the little hairs on the stem & leaves, though, because they can be irritating to some folks. A tea made from the leaves is diuretic and expectorant. It has been used for respiratory ailments and fevers. You can also use the leaves as a poultice for wounds, including bites from insects, spiders, and snakes.
