Residents of the southern New Mexico village of Ruidoso were ordered to flee their homes Monday after two fast-growing fires converging on the village were discovered. EarthCam captured a wall of smoke filling the sky as the fires continued to burn.

Watch the complete construction of the Virginia General Assembly building, located in downtown Richmond. For 7 years, EarthCam documented the construction of the 15-story, 12,000-person capacity building, capturing hundreds of thousands of high-quality images. The nearly $300 million modernized facility, constructed on the same footprint of its asbestos-laden predecessor, will house the offices of members of the Virginia Senate and House of Delegates, as well as spacious new committee rooms where new laws will be written.

Today, we commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and celebrate freedom and equality. Since September 2022, EarthCam has documented the rehabilitation of Thompson Memorial A.M.E Zion Church in Auburn, NY - where Harriet Tubman worshiped during her time in Auburn. The church, which is part of the 32-acre Harriet Tubman National Historical Park, is an active construction site with no onsite programs during construction. It plans to open to the public on June 22.
