Traditionally, yoga studios used sand bag as a way to access deeper poses. However, they can get so bulky and lopsided. Enter in the #myravi blankets. They are quilted and 8.5 lbs. Feel free to use one while working in our space too. Place it on your lap during a stressful meeting. People have always asked me what are the real benefits to a weighted blanket? Many different studies have shown that weighted blankets may benefit people with anxiety, autism, and insomnia, among other conditions. You wind up feeling so much better because the gentle pressure on the body can help calm you by activating your parasympathetic nervous system; which lowers your heart rate when stressed. It feel like a soothing hug. Occupational therapists frequently used weighted blankets in what they called sensory integration therapy. They were often marked more for children who had trouble processing their senses (a trait often linked to autism). However, we all suffer from stress. So, for many people, weighted blankets have become a routine part of stress relief and healthy sleep habits, and for good reason.It is thought to help us better control our emotions and boost our mental health.
