Who wants an update about how building in public is going for me so far ? Read below 👇🏽 First, the WHY. I chose to #buildinpublic because launching a #startup is a long and psychology demanding undertaking, forcing myself to communicate about the steps and progress (or setbacks) I make (or face) is a good way to stay in touch with the real world and not trap myself into an ivory tower. Moreover, it allows early fans to get onboard and help you shape the vision of the project from the beginning... IMHO that's an amazing advantage over building alone (or with a handful of cofounders). Now that you know the reasons behind my choice, let me share a quick update: 1. The name of the game has been picked through a voting process on X/Twitter: 📣 Space Hunters - https://x.com/spacehuntrs (follow the game on X for more frequent updates 😉) 2. The logo for the game was generated using AI! The Game's Discord community voted for the main direction, then a smaller committee decided on the final logo version and you can see the result on X (I'm personally super happy with it 🤩) 3. By multiplying discussions about the game and the business behind it, the game mechanics and the overall narrative have been refined multiple times over the last month, it feels like we're ages ahead of what I initially had in mind and that alone is very rewarding. 4. The project has been accepted by what I would call a "light" acceleration program. "Light" because it's fully remote and only requires a couple hours of my time on a weekly basis, but when you are serious about your project, you put more work on it and the program is quite helpful to structure thoughts and receive feedback. Thanks Chris Cantino for putting up the CPG community together 🤝 5. After several conversations, the owner of a digital studio cut me a deal that is super sweet and they'll be taking care of many creative aspects for the game (AI has its limits), I'll publicly share their name when I'll showcase their first delivery 👀 6. I collected great inputs for some innovative use of technology. Talking #Blockchain #ordinals and #AI here. Getting insights from people like Danny Yang and Gregarious Narain is elevating 🙏🏽 7. I'm also learning a ton in the process... all my background is B2B... this project is B2C 🤯. Being transparent and vocal about it puts me in a place where I'm receiving valuable feedback without even asking If you are crazy enough to be working on a new project in the current market conditions, I strongly advise you to be very open about it and share as much info as you publicly can, there's very little downside to it.
