What's your favorite Crummer memory? During our commencement celebrations, we asked some of our graduates their favorite memories of Crummer. For many of our Early Advantage students, they mentioned their international learning excursions. One in particular was quite popular... See what students Isabel Martinov, MBA, Lauryn Shakes, and Enrico Camilli have to say. #CrummerBusiness #RollinsCollege #CrummerMemories

🌟 Attention all teachers! ✏️🍎 Ahhh, summertime! If you’re a teacher, just reading or hearing that word can flood you with feelings of relief and respite. And for good reason. Teachers work hard, and the school year can be just as grueling as it is fulfilling. Educators are multidisciplinary professionals doing everything from creating lesson plans and giving classroom instruction to reading and grading hundreds of papers and tests. On top of that, they devise games and presentations, chaperone field trips, lead clubs, and meet with parents. They also continually develop their skills through professional development. With their summer break, teachers have an opportunity to choose with intention whatever activities most restore and fulfill them. Summer can be their chance to explore travel or hobbies they don’t have time for during the school year. They can also use the time to develop their professional skills and qualifications by working toward a degree or achieving a new certification. Or they can get a summer job, whether education-related or not. Most decide to do some combination of these ideas. For best results, plan ahead! Ready to take your summer to another level? Today’s lesson from summer camp - enthusiasm is contagious! 🦠Would I normally wear pinwheels on my head to work? Sadly, no. But when we model the exuberance we want to see, the campers pick up on it and 10x it all on their own, and this incredible culture of joyful fun thrives.

First Gens Rise Up 👐 From immigrants to migrants to everyone in-between, could not be more proud to be in this "nomadic" community I call home. Speaking from experience, sense of identity, purpose and even just Career is often a struggle when you are first generation. Pressure is put on you by yourself but also your family. There are times that you feel as if you need to excel because of what sacrifices your family made for you to have opportunity for education, career ect. No one talks about the guilt that comes with being first generation or a immigrant, only the "benifits" you magically have / do not really have. One thing we all have is Resilience. Programs like TRIO exist for a reason and they are beyond essential. Luther College had an amazing program led by Chivonne Blankenship Marlow & Gwen. Passionate people inspire those who need it most. 💡A reason I work for the government and continue to do so is to inspire others but also provide representation where it has not been before. Create and enable systems, policies and programs that are equitable, inclusive and equal. This starts with education. Education is the foundation that often lays your future as an adult. 🌟 What an inspiring story from U.S. Department of State ! Government is an awesome career and often hard to explain especially when you are first generation. Still to this day, my family has no idea what my job entails, but hey they could not be more proud! The federal government is an amazing opportunity for those seeking public service and lifelong careers. Agencies across the board need more first generation & emerging leaders reflecting the worldly majority. 👍Cheers to the resilience and mighty, forging a uncharted path in higher education and Service! #federalgovernment #service #firstgen #riseup #diversitymatters #DiverseVoices
