"While electrification numbers for light commercial vehicles (LCVs) seem promising, a closer examination reveals a concerning disparity. The number of small to medium eLCVs masks a significant shortage in the 3.5 to 4.5-tonne, large van segment, primarily due to persistent challenges related to cost, range and payload capacity – thus leaving proven pollutants on the road. Addressing this imbalance requires targeted interventions aimed at overcoming barriers specific to heavier eLCVs." We have a provisional deal on the #CO2 standards for #HDVs, agreeing on: ➡ Truck reduction targets of 45% in 2030, 65% in 2035 and 90% in 2040. ➡ Specialized trucks (like garbage and construction trucks) will be included in 2035. ➡ Buses will be all #zeroemissions by 2035 (90% CO2 reduction in 2030). ➡ Trailers will have to contribute between 7.5% and 10% to reduce the energy consumption of trucks. Have you provided training in the safe use of these vehicles to your team members and discussed this with your supply chain partners? When planning work for these vehicles how do you determine safe fueling points and the time it takes to refuel compared to current refueling requirements.

Commercial vehicles in the UK are getting electrified ⚡️ 💙 UK government allocated £200 million to a zero emission road freight demonstration programme in 2022. 💙 IKEA, Unilever, JSW Steel Limited, A.P. Moller – Maersk and GeoPost/DPDgroup committed to transitioning their medium and heavy-duty vehicles to zero emission by 2040. 💙 In 2023 a cross industry action group met to discuss the next steps on the decarbonisation of HGVs across the UK and Europe.
