This is not just another announcement. Over the past few months, you've heard me talk about Function Health. This isn’t merely about new investors; it's a signal from some of the world's top institutions that empowering you to take control of your health outside the doctor’s office is critical. We’ve secured a $53M investment led by top investor a16z Bio + Health. Early cancer detection is critical. Getting ahead of heart disease is critical. Understanding your hormones is critical. This investment ensures we can scale this revolutionary approach to reach billions of people. We've already seen countless stories of how Function Health has saved and transformed lives. Thanks to @CNBC Squawk Box for having me on the show this morning.  A 44-year-old father of two discovered prostate cancer in stage one. A 51-year-old mother of four discovered ovarian cancer just in time before she was symptomatic. A 35-year-old fit man revealed a critical heart disease risk that typical physicals never caught. Over 60% of our members have a nutrient deficiency. Over 30% of our members are showing autoimmunity signals. This is about people's lives. And in each case, Function was there to help them take control. We've designed Function to be the easiest and fastest way to take charge of your health, starting with 100+ lab tests that provide an extremely comprehensive picture of what's actually happening inside your body. My career, beyond being a practicing physician, has been dedicated to educating people like you about your health. This is the next level, beyond just writing books. I'm tirelessly working to ensure millions have access to the same high-level healthcare that has been available to wealthy people with concierge doctors—and then going far beyond that. This is just the beginning. We built Function for you. It's time you own your health.

The panelist commentary was pathetic and demonstrated a clear lack of background research. “So it’s for hypochondriacs?” “Oh, it actually works?” These kind of statements represent everything wrong with healthcare today. If anyone wants to be proactive and monitor their own health, they are suddenly crazy. That being said, it’s important to differentiate between cancers that are actually life-threatening and those that are relatively harmless and may not require intervention.

Congratulations for the impactful work that Function Health is doing to empower individuals to take control of their health. It’s truly inspiring to see technology and innovation making early detection and preventive health more accessible. We share the vision of democratizing healthcare and promoting a proactive approach to health management. While Function Health’s achievements are commendable, the true potential lies in integrating these services into existing healthcare systems and providers, as well as other sectors. This integration can help to scale these life-saving tests more effectively and reduce costs, making them accessible to a broader population. Preventive health isn’t just about early detection; it’s about creating a supportive ecosystem where healthcare providers, real estate developers, and various other industries collaborate to foster environments that support healthy living and continuous care. By working together, we can lower the price point of these critical tests and truly democratize prevention. How can we ensure that such innovative approaches become affordable and accessible to all, effectively transforming the landscape of preventive healthcare?

The heartbreaking reality is that the patients who need this the most can’t afford these tests!

In 2013, a functional doctor detected that I had high levels of Mercury Intoxication. I was losing the ability to see clearly, and the migraines were debilitating. Traditional tests could not go to the root cause of my symptoms. I was able to detoxify fully, and since then, I have been going to a functional doctor. However, the tests are costly, second opinions from doctors who are not functional are rare, and getting other doctors to prescribe treatments covered under insurance ( In my case, both Physical Therapy and Neddling made a vast difference) is nearly impossible. I signed up for Function Health and will have my first tests next week. I look forward to trying it, as these same tests would have cost me thousands of dollars in the past years. I will let you know how it goes. **** I have absolutely no affiliation with Function Health and do not benefit from sharing my story here. I believe the health sector needs disruption, and people deserve to have access to top-quality healthcare at all income levels.

Function Health was a transformative tool for my personal health journey. I discovered an elevated PSA which led to MRI to Biopsy and then detection of cancer. I had surgery just over a month ago and am back to 90% at work/gym and have already traveled internationally. Had I tested my PSA the normal route (50+, no family history), my situation could have been catastrophic (words of oncologist at Cedars in BH). What could have been life-altering for my family and myself became something I'm nearly past after a month. Early detection for me also meant a super fast recovery given age. I am the 44YO father of 2 Mark mentioned above so true story:) ...if anyone has any questions please DM I would love to help. Very thankful to the function team and family

Great to see this coming more into the mainstream. If we could just invest in more preventative and regenerative healthcare rather than only investing in 'interventionist' or reactive medicine - the NHS would be able to function. Hopefully the UK government and the insurance industries will start to invest in aspects of nutrition and active life because the money it costs will be dwarfed by the money it saves.
