We got some juicy B2B ad benchmark data from Dreamdata. Last week, Dreamdata released their 2024 B2B benchmark report and it’s a doozie. It is full of beautiful data nuggets that I will quote to clients for weeks to come. Yes, I work with B2B brands, too. Here are some of the highlights, that stood out for me. 1. LinkedIn accounts for 31.1% of B2B ad spend (Google still gets 51.2%); 2. LinkedIn ads achieve on average 113% ROAS (Google search gets 78% and Facebook gets only 29%. Ohh boy); 3. Customer journey length is 192 days on average, that’s over 6 months. 4. There are 62 touches across at least three channels before a B2B deal is closed. 5. [Not sure? I share my top statistic in this video: https://bit.ly/486tv9z] Website reporting in general, and the new Google Analytics 4 in particular, can be extremely confusing. Many B2B marketers either don’t pay attention to their website analytics reports or can easily determine if there’s something wrong that needs fixing. If you only look at one website performance statistic, look at your website CONVERSION RATE - the number of monthly CONTACTS divided by the number of monthly VISITORS. If that percentage IS LESS THAN 2%, your website could start a lot more sales conversations than it’s starting now. When our clients first started running Performance Max, the feedback on results was mixed.
