Here's a look at the Marvel Rivals inspired character select menu I created in Rive. Pretty incredible that you can do all the character rigging/animation work AND ui work in one place! I'll post some Procreate timelapse videos of the character art sometime this week.

Followed tutorial by Jake in Motion. I love how to the point the tutorial was. You can jump in without prior knowledge of After Effects or duik angela. It will also teach you how to build your 2d characters for rigging with duik angela.

Here's a short edit of an animation I just finished (this is the project from the style frames I shared last month)
This was a bit of a different type of project for me as it's not the normal type of style I do.
I got to come up with the style and design of it which was really good to do.
There's a few bits in here that didn't end up in the final video, and it felt like a waste to just have them sit in the old renders folder on my hard drive.

Call out for #voiceactor 's. We're looking to make a sample animation of our three characters. Im still toying with the idea of voicing the Dad BUT I am open to someone else voicing him.
There are three characters, a Dad, Mother and son, who we envisage to be British (a bonus would be Brummies but we're not married to that idea)

Cut to over the shoulder shot of Uno flicking through wacky videos on a platform similar to Tiktok (maybe use some of the videos we’ve made before like Bookworm, Happy song, etc)
Cut back to low shot. We see Dad slowly peer up over Unos shoulder with a quizzical look on his face.
Cut to silly hamster video on Unos phone
Dad looks unimpressed and so he snatches phone away
DAD
Is this what passes for entertainment now?
UNO
Dad! Gimme the phone back!
DAD
You don’t need this! You need to use this
(Dad points at Unos forehead, causing Uno to go cross eye)
You need to use your imagination! In my day…
UNO
(Cutting off his father)
Mom! Dads talking about the old days again
Cut to Mom who is in a trance on her own phone, looking at Insta style posts. Other unicorns living perfect lives
DAD
(Continues)
In my day we made our own fun. Why, I used to write songs, and perform dances for my parents, I even entered competitions! Do you wanna see my award winning song and mooves?
Cut to picture on mantelpiece of dad holding a crappy holiday park certificate saying ‘best effort’
UNO
No!
DAD
(Ignores Uno)
It went like this
Cut to 80s style music video
'Dance with the unicorn' song
UNO
(looks horrified and shouts)
Moooom! Dads doing the dance again
This breaks Mom out of her trance and she looks up with a sly smiles. “Oooh, shake those buns honey
(She turns her phone and begins to live stream her husband as she jumps on an opportunity to make some insta content for her followers)
He dances in a very confident manner, though the moves do not deserve it. The scene becomes even more 80s style, very silly dance, like an old pop video
UNO
(Clasps his hooves to his ears)
Make it stop!
Dad continues with cringes moves and Uno runs out of the room manically screaming, as if escaping a burning house
MOM
(Calls after Uno)
If it wasnt for that dance Uno, you wouldnt even be here!

This is really just a snippet scene to showcase the personality of the characters, a scene that could later belong to a much longer episode.
