Here we go, updating a resume that hasn't been touched in 5 years! Time to bring it into the modern age. Lat Long Labs didn't make it into YC, but their encouragement to apply again was heartening. LLL has uncovered so much about our world, to incorporate into public policy, academic research, and Search for location applications. We’re keeping LatLongLabs.com live, with volunteer updates. Back to LaTeX, my old friend, to refresh my resume and showcase my passion for tackling complex, critical challenges. I'm eager for what's next!

Excited to embark on my LinkedIn journey! As a recent 2024 engineering graduate, I'm on the lookout for opportunities, meaningful connections, and genuine friendships. 🎓 Despite graduating during a recession, I refused to settle for less than my dream job. Recognizing the gap between academic learning and industry demands, I dove into upskilling. Four years of engineering education left me feeling unprepared, but instead of dwelling on lost time, I took action. 💡 After extensive research, I charted a course toward becoming a data scientist, data analyst, or software development engineer (SDE). I firmly believe that practical, industry-specific skills are the key to unlocking rewarding career opportunities. 📈 On this platform, I aim to document my learning journey transparently. Sharing my progress and the resources I discover serves a dual purpose: it holds me accountable and, hopefully, provides value to others navigating similar paths. 🔍 My focus will be on data science, data analytics, and mastering DSA with Python. I'm committed to continuous growth and eager to connect with like-minded individuals who share my passion for leveraging data to drive innovation. Sharing my learnings not only allows me to document my progress but also opens the door to valuable suggestions, feedback, and advice from seniors and experts in the technical domain. I believe that constructive criticism is essential for growth, and I'm committed to correcting any flaws in my learning journey to continually hone my skills. Together, let's build a community where knowledge exchange leads to collective improvement.

Often, we see our career as a predetermined path, fearing any deviation as a waste of time. I can't disagree more. Detours are a way to enrich our skills. I've never quite resonated with the word "career." It sounds too static, failing to capture the dynamic twists and turns I've experienced and continue to explore. Recently, reflecting on my PATH, I've come to realize it's anything but linear. It wasn't in the past, it isn't now, and likely won't be in the future. If I could talk to my 10-years-ago self, that's what I'd like to say: every step, every deviation isn't taking you out from your "career"; it's leading you to build the person you will be in the future, full of experiences and transversal skills. I am curious to read your side experiences and how you think they affected your present skills 🚀 _______ Ideas are stories, and I bring them to life through visuals. 🟢 I am Erika, founder and visual artist at PLEM | visual tales 💬 Let’s connect and chat! ♻ Share if you find this interesting!

Reflecting on my first-ever panel experience just over a week ago, I'm still buzzing with gratitude for the opportunity to share the stage with such talented and knowledgeable professionals. Bringing my own perspective and experience to the forefront, my aim was to humanize the creative industry. Because let's be real, it's not a realm solely ruled by shadowy figures, but by genuine, passionate individuals like you and me! For both aspiring newcomers and those seeking further development within the creative industry, I'd like to distill two short points that I was particularly passionate about during our panel discussion, hoping they resonate and prove beneficial for all my connections: Documenting Achievements: It's not only about what you accomplish but also how effectively you can showcase it. By consistently tracking your progress, you gain real-time insight into your evolving skills and expertise. This not only facilitates conversations with potential employers but also enhances your ability to demonstrate your value effectively. Stay Consistent : While the market may be turbulent, every rejection, setback, and pushback helps sculpt your journey toward finding the perfect fit for you. I'm eager for future opportunities to engage on panels, and a big thank you to Lizzy Reid and Creative Spaces once again for the incredible opportunity!

hello LinkedIn family, I haven't posted anything for quite a while now, its quite bizarre, the truth is I have for the past weeks, began a journey, a journey of self- inquisition, delving into, poring over and inspecting the self, myself. it's a vast concept, as wide as the ocean if you may, but with each depth I am gaining every new day a wealth of principles for life. Look out for my next post, more snippets of acumen.

What an awesome time speaking on this panel discussing Non Technical Pathways to Tech Careers hosted by The Source Groups in Miami the other week. Thank you Stefan A. Owens, Hilmon Sorey and Ted Lucas for the opportunity. Here are 4 things I spoke about: 1. Navigating my way into the start-up world with an NFL background. 2. What to look for in a company when pivoting into a whole new industry. 3. The mindset and patience that is needed to find the right fit for you and will highlight your unique skillset 4. We all have a story, a story of how we learn and adapt quickly, overcoming, grit, executing, etc. Communicate your story in an effective way that will make you a candidate people do not want to pass up on. See you at the next one ! 🚀

Absolutely resonated with your thoughts! The pressure of constant comparison and self-assessment can indeed lead us into that complex web of self-doubt. Am I the only one who overthinks a lot at 3 am specially about my career and academics? Well, I think most of you get into the dark ocean of questions and get stressed about it. Don’t you? Every next day, perhaps every next night I find myself stuck between “what I’ve achieved and what I haven’t” ; where am I going and what’s the next? Where am I lacking behind? I find myself struggling with thoughts about my personal life, friends, family and yes my career. We think, think and think about it all day but usually the boom arrives when the clock turns 2:00 or 3:00 in the night. We usually get upset, doubt ourselves and our capabilities when we see the other peeps doing better than us. But shouldn’t we just ask ourselves am I doing better than I was doing yesterday? I think that matters the most. I believe that we should not run behind things. Maybe the things we are running behind aren’t meant for us, maybe something else is waiting for us. Some hidden doors still might be there which haven’t been opened yet. We should have some patience and observe. The right thing will straight away come to us at the right time. We should just keep practising and believing in ourselves. And the most important part is not to get discouraged by seeing other people doing better than us. We all are in our timing or we can say the right timing. Let them do they and you do you! I wish everyone seeing this post good luck with their future endeavors. May you and I achieve more than we admire.

Multimodal learning is influential for many domains, including advertising. Our work at kdd (with Nikhil Madaan, Krishna Reddy Kesari and Shaunak Mishra) shows that both images and text uplift quality of generated text especially when one medium is lacking.
