We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, and passionate student to be admitted to a Ph.D. program to join Dr. Chougule's multidisciplinary Ingenious Biopharma-engineered Drugs and Biologics Delivery Laboratory (iBD2 lab) research group in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mercer University College of Pharmacy.
An ideal student will have a B.S., or B. Pharm, M.S. or M.S. or PharmD in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, or bioengineering, biomedical sciences, or a relevant field or a PharmD degree in pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, bioengineering, biomedical sciences, or a relevant field. Minimum undergraduate Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Minimum Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score of at least 40 percentile in the verbal section and at least 60 percentile in the quantitative section. For an applicant from a country where the primary language is other than English, a minimum official TOEFL score of 100 IBT (internet-based TOEFL) or a score of 7.5 (IELTS). Dr. Chougule has 20+ years of research experience in research institutes, academia, and pharma industries. Dr. Chougule's interdisciplinary research program investigates the co-delivery of therapeutic agents, siRNA, miRNA, anti-mer miRNA, oligonucleotides, proteins, and immunomodulatory antigens using targeted nano or microparticle-based formulations pharma products for treating COVID-19, asthma, lung cancer, and breast cancer. Dr. Chougule's scientific contribution includes 10 patents, 42 peer-reviewed research articles, 16 review articles, 15 chapters, and 3 editorial articles. He delivered 34 invited talks and presented research in 100+ posters. Dr. Chougule mentored 13 Ph.D. students, 6 master's students, 19 PharmD or pharmacy students, 13 postdoctoral/visiting fellows, 4 undergraduate students, and 4 high school students.
