Chief Executive Officer | Team Leadership, Strategy, Research and Innovation

This Saturday was a truly special day for me. I had the honor of attending the Graduation ceremony of SBEC International High School as an executive committee member (as I did for the last nine years). I also spoke as the guest speaker at the Little Fingers graduation ceremony for the second year. This year however, marked a significant difference as both my first child and second child graduated from the high school and kindergarten, respectively. Being a parent of the graduates was an indescribable feeling, one that truly resonated deeply with me as I thought of my father's experience. Reflecting on the day, I am immensely grateful for the incredible support system that made this milestone possible. The ceremonies served as a powerful reminder of how our leading educational institutions are molding future world changers. I found myself wishing the same for all educational establishments in the Gambia. Moreover, the age gap between my children also prompted thoughts on how women sometimes have to delay or forgo having children due to educational and career pursuits. Recognizing the importance of having choices in such matters became even more evident to me. Now, I find myself at a juncture, having to guide my oldest child through career counseling sessions and future plans. Regardless of her decisions, my priority remains teaching her about life and the essence of being a good ‘human’. Motherhood is a journey..and a ‘university’ on its own…Alhamdulilah #GraduationDay #ParentingJourney #EducationMatters #LifeMilestones 🎓🌟👩🎓
