Here's my favorite bits- 1️⃣🏗Asking tough questions up front can bring about the greatest change in the construction industry. For example, is _____ project worth taking on? Is _____ a problem that engineers are the best equipped to solve? Is _____ even a problem for the majority of the intended end users? "Wasted efforts designing and building things that are not needed are resulting in trillions of dollars of value loss annually and an unnecessary environmental burden for one of the most polluting industries in the world." 2️⃣🧨 Disruption of the construction industry's management practices is needed to improve collaboration between owners, engineers, and constructors. Innovation requires some uncomfortable changes so be BOLD. But also- DON'T forget to set benchmarks to measure yourself along the way. DON'T forget to reiterate if something isn't turning out how you wanted it to. "The value add of heavy collaboration between engineers, Constructors, and owners is made possible through lean execution, digital tools, and well designed contract models:Taking a truly collaborative approach with their clients to shape scope, feasibility, and execution strategy can enable fast decision making and value maximization for E&C firms. This requires agility and the use of lean execution and industry-leading digital tools in planning and design from day one to bear fruit later on in construction."
