Doyle Security Services, Inc. (DSS) is proud to announce that President and Chief Operating Officer Mario J. Doyle, CPP, was recently honored with an award in recognition of his efforts to promote women’s leadership in the workplace. On June 5, Mario was presented the 2024 MoXY Award by the Moxxie Mentoring Foundation, a non-profit organization that seeks to accelerate the career advancement and professional development of young women pursuing leadership roles in the workplace. The awards ceremony was held at The Mansion at Oyster Bay in Woodbury, Long Island. The Moxxie Foundation has mentored more than 650 women and organizes two events each year: the MoXY Awards in June and the October Emerald Summit, which supports women's leadership and professional mentoring. Moxxie has dedicated to the ideal that “women are an integral and vital part of business” and works for a world in which “women have attained equal pay and opportunities in top leadership positions across the business and public sectors.” The foundation believes that achieving this goal requires “men who actively participate in women's rise to leadership positions.” The Foundation’s goals resonate deeply with Doyle Security Services, Inc. (DSS)’s core principle of promoting diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our organization. Women hold prominent positions across the entire DSS Team and, as a company, we promote opportunities for women to advance in the security industry. The MoXY Award celebrates these efforts to increase diversity and ensure that women are positively represented in our industry. MoXY Awardees are nominated by women in the business community and were selected by the awards’ event committee. Mario was nominated and supported by several women in DSS leadership. Congratulations on the 2024 MoXY Award, Mario! Recently, DSS senior executives joined headquarters staff at City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill in Westbury, Long Island, to wish a valued member of the corporate support team a happy retirement. Susan Fellin, Payroll & Billing Manager at Doyle Security Services, Inc. (DSS) corporate headquarters in Rockville Centre, has retired after eight years with the company. “My time at DSS was a wonderful experience,” Susan says. “It wasn't an easy decision to leave, because I love the people that I work with, but I needed to take time for myself, while I am still healthy and can enjoy doing the things I like.” Susan joined DSS back in 2016. At the time, the company deployed around 250 security officers. During the time Susan was at DSS, the company experienced dramatic growth, adding scores of high-profile clients and expanding its geographic footprint. Today, DSS has more than 1,000 security professionals deployed across four states. As Payroll & Billing Manager, Susan experienced that expansion firsthand, working hard to ensure that DSS’ growing number of employees were always paid on time and that clients were billed accurately. In a company growing as fast as DSS, that is no small task. “We were always very busy,” Fellin recalls. “But it was also great to see the company grow. DSS is a fantastic place to work. It’s a special feeling to be part of a real team. Not every company is like that. Many of the places I worked at before DSS weren’t focused on their team members and the difference was like night and day compared to DSS.” Susan also led DSS’ participation in last year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The event raised money to combat the neurodegenerative disease, which afflicts more than six million Americans. Fighting Alzheimer’s is a personal commitment for Fellin, who lost her mother, Adeline, to the disease. Looking forward, Fellin says she has no specific plans for retirement, except to enjoy herself. “I just plan to enjoy life, enjoy my friends, my family, and have time for what I always wanted to do,” she explains. DSS wishes Susan a long and happy retirement. We thank her for her many years of service to DSS. Mario J.
