Looking for someone in my network who may have a contact in local theater. My wife, Michele, has written a one-act farce based on an experience we had with a cooking class in Mexico. It's funny and entertaining. We've hosted several readings and now we want to explore a stage production. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Listen First: Key to Pan Improv Auditions We just wrapped up summer auditions at Pan Theater in Oakland. One key takeaway for aspiring improvisers? Listening matters more. It's more important than funny or witty. Here's why: Genuine Connections: Deep listening fosters strong rapport with your scene partner, creating believable on-stage relationships. Spontaneous Creativity: Responding authentically to what your partner brings to the scene unleashes your unique point of view. Giving Up Control: When you listen, you let your partner do their part. By responding to what you hear the reactions re grounded. You react authentically in the moment. These skills translate beautifully beyond improv! Active listening strengthens communication, fosters collaboration, and hones the ability to think on your feet – valuable tools in any professional environment. #improvcomedy #improvisation #activeskills #communication #creativity #transformation #oakland #bayarea #theater #performance

Nobody puts baby in a corner 💃 Last night I went to Hull to watch a stage performance of Dirty Dancing… The Observer says it’s— “THE BIGGEST LIVE THEATRE SENSATION OF ALL TIME" - (UK) And it did not disappoint! It got me thinking about how much training, studying, and learning the performers do. They’re truly a master of their craft. They owned the stage, they wowed the crowd, and they never missed a beat! And they do this because they practice… This also got me thinking: * How often do you practice your craft? * How often do you learn something new * How often do you study Earlier this week, I did a live stream sharing three lessons I have learnt, studied and practised for 20 years. Go and watch the replay here 👇 LINK IN THE COMMENTS 🔗 LINK IN THE COMMENTS 🔗 LINK IN THE COMMENTS 🔗 PS— the video is less than 10 minutes, it’s packed with value, and there’s a free PDF template too.

🎥Saturday was an exhilarating day - the first edition of the Impro Theatre Awards of the Impro Super Cup took place! 🍿After six Impro Super Cups, where various groups competed against each other, Javier and I decided to organize a special show in the style of an awards ceremony. 👉The audience could vote for the best player, the best soundtrack, and the best improvisation group via QR code. The show was an absolute highlight! Both the audience and we had such a great time! Of course, not everything went perfectly - there were mistakes. 🎊But you know what? We had fun failing! Because we learned through years of Improvisationtheater that it's impossible to think of everything in advance. And sometimes things don't go as planned. Thanks to improvisational theater, we've learned to see mistakes as opportunities - and that's what makes it exciting and even better! If you're also interested in learning and growing through improvisation theater, and you're in Berlin, you have the opportunity to participate in the "Impro-Power: Improvisation Theater for Life" workshop (in English and in German). Check the dates in my web page (link in the comments). #improv #celebratemistakes #entrepeneur #fun

For this article I interviewed producers and performers in locally-based storytelling and improv shows in different areas of the country. As the theater and entertainment world continues to find its post-pandemic footing, all the perils and problems that plague arts-based projects are amplified: operational costs, scarce resources, risk-averse behavior on every side. But we need what theater offers: Stories. Insight. Emotional connection. Community. Storytelling and improv shows on a local level are thriving because they fill that need. https://lnkd.in/eSSH8AYi
