The multifunctional MTF800 positions provided by SITTI allow operators to acquire operational awareness at a glance, concentrating all related information sources (even from third party suppliers) in a reduced number of screens, through which the interaction between operator and each subsystem (voice, frequencies, weather, cameras, recorders, flight strips, etc.) is simplified and integrated. NATCA Thanks Congress for Extending FAA Authorization, Avoiding End of Year Shutdown The National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) thanks Congress for passing an extension to the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) authorization preventing a painful and costly shutdown at the end of the year. NATCA stands ready to work with Congress to pass a long-term FAA reauthorization bill that addresses the decade-long staffing shortage of air traffic controllers, updates FAA’s technology, and prepares the agency for the integration of new users into the system while maintaining and improving the safest, most efficient airspace in the world for the current users of the National Airspace System (NAS). NATCA supports both the House of Representatives passed bill and the bill introduced in the Senate, because both bills address these significant needs. News from the INVL Technology managed companies: Novian PRO will develop an information system for scheduling the work of Brazilian air traffic controllers. An agreement on the project has been signed with the Commission for the Implementation of the Brazilian Airspace Control System (CISCEA).   The new system will be built for Brazil’s main airspace control system organisation, the Department of Airspace Control (DECEA) of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), under the Ministry of Defence.   It will permit the assessment of scheduling needs for air traffic controllers at two of Brazil’s four air traffic control centres (CINDACTA, port. Centro Integrado de Defesa Aérea e Controle de Tráfego Aéreo) – in Curitiba and Recife – based on expected flights and availability.   It will also enable the assignment of personnel to shifts in keeping with their competencies and the planning of their work and rest times during shifts as well as of their long-term needs.   Read more: https://lnkd.in/dDCUFuAk   Išsamiau: https://lnkd.in/dY5BUYZD

West Air selects Cobham Aerospace Communications' Light Cockpit Satcom (LCS) system for its Airbus A320NEO   Cobham Aerospace Communications and West Air have confirmed the delivery of the LCS system on West Air A320NEO. Cobham Aerospace Communications’ AVIATOR 200S system represents a disruptive evolution in aircraft cockpit communications. Compared to previous legacy systems, AVIATOR 200S offers two separate aircraft communication network domains, up to 80 times the data transfer capacity and approved secure IP based ACARS/SATVOICE safety services with VPN/IPsec. In addition to its extensive communication capabilities, the AVIATOR 200S system offers the best SWaP parameters (size, weight, power) for a Swift Broadband Safety (Inmarsat SB-S 2.0) system. It also supports future i4D/4D trajectory-based operations and ATN over Satcom for continental use (SESAR Iris), FANS 1/A (FAA NextGen) and PBCS for oceanic routes.  © West Air #airlines #Satcom

We have achieved an important step forward in our A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport programme. We have just signed two contracts with France for the Capability Enhancement (the Standard 2) and the In-Service Support of the French MRTT fleet. Valued at 1,200€ million, these contracts are a sign of commitment and customer satisfaction. What does it mean? First: our customer, the @French Air and Space Force, relies on its #A330MRTT ‘Phenix’ fleet to project its military power. Second: we, together with our customers, are getting ready for the future by transforming the MRTT into a communication node between all air platforms and ground Command and Control centers, as a first strategic brick of the tanker of tomorrow embedded in the #FCAS and its combat cloud. Third: the 10 years In-Service support is an extension of the current maintenance contract signed in 2014 by the DGA, which reflects the clear satisfaction of our customer. Fourth: the prototype for Standard 2 development will be converted in one step. This is one more conversion to be handled in Getafe (Madrid). Take into account that one aircraft represents roughly 100.000 working hours in the shopfloor. The upgrade of the remaining 14 French A330 MRTTs will take place in France with Airbus as prime contractor. That's an important workload for our teams, which reinforces the future of the programme. Under the nickname of ‘Phénix’, the French Air and Space Force currently operates 12 A330 MRTTs, with more than 18,000 flight hours reached. France is the largest A330 MRTT customer with 15 A330 MRTT ordered. I want to thank, not only to our customer, but also our teams who made this possible. #DefenceMatters

Important brick towards FCAS, upgrading the Tanker (MRTT) connectivity standard towards collaborative combat! While France, Germany and Spain are engaged and progressing well on developing the next generation towards 2040, FCAS happens in parallel nationally and incrementally, where each nation (France, Germany and Spain) will need to upgrade their existing fleet to make them „collaborative ready“. The MRTT standard 2 is a clear example of that roadmap. Similar endeavours are being pursued in Spain and Germany as well.
