Last month, Dollar Tree and Family Dollar partnered with the Urban League of Hampton Roads, Inc. to award ten $1,000 scholarships to outstanding high school graduates who have completed the Project Ready Program. Project Ready is an educational program designed to prepare African Americans and other historically underserved high school youth for college and careers. Over the past 12 months, members of the Black Advocate Alliance Associate Resource Group (ARG) have worked with the students on several life skills development topics. The ceremony featured Hampton Roads Channel News 3 Reporter Leondra Head as the keynote speaker, as well as Urban League representatives, the Black Advocate Alliance ARG, and the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging team. It was a celebration of the talented students’ hard work, dedication, and bright futures that lie ahead for each of them. #Partnership #Scholarships #ProjectReady #DollarTreeLife #Belonging

It was an honor to host this scholarship ceremony. It warmed my heart to see so many students doing such amazing things. The future is bright! Thank you Urban League of Hampton Roads, Inc. for the partnership.
