Recognized International Leader and Speaker on Race, Gender and Ethnic Diversity and Inclusion and Implicit Bias
Professor Stern asserts "By providing a socio-legal examination of the different generations of American spatial segregation, the Article concludes that separation through municipal incorporation somewhat escaped the widespread realization that, at least in the public and constitutional levels, segregation is seen as discriminatory. Therefore, despite the political barriers and legal restrictions laid down by both federal and state law to ban segregation between social groups within the communities, the route for separation through municipal incorporation seems to be unrestricted and easier to implement. Moreover, an examination of the municipal incorporation approval procedures reveals that none of the fifty states attempt to estimate the possible discriminatory consequences of the incorporation or condition the approval with proof that the separation will not lead to discrimination and harm against disadvantaged groups. This state of affairs, despite that municipal incorporation may serve important social, economic, and even democratic purposes, renders this procedure exposed to exploitation by parties seeking to reapply the “separate but equal” doctrine in space."

📣 The Importance of Youth Engagement in Politics and Democracy 📣 As the future leaders of our nation, it's crucial for the youth, especially legal students, to take a keen interest in the country's politics. Democracy thrives when its citizens actively participate and contribute. Legal students possess a unique understanding of the law and governance, making their perspectives invaluable in shaping policies and laws that govern our nation. By engaging in politics, they can bring fresh ideas, innovative solutions, and a deeper understanding of legal intricacies to the table. Our democracy is strengthened when young voices are heard, and their insights are integrated into the decision-making process. It's not just about voting; it's about being actively involved, understanding the issues, and making informed contributions to our nation's governance. Let's encourage our youth to step forward, engage in political discourse, and play an active role in shaping the future of our democracy. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive, and prosperous nation! #YouthInPolitics #Democracy #LegalStudents #PoliticalEngagement #FutureLeaders

In 126 days, the American people may lose their democratic government for generations to come. The US Supreme court which is being exposed for corruption and partisanship is primed to assist Donald Trump in overturning a close election result. The Federalist Society, the Heritage Foundation and the extreme rightwing billionaire class are all publicly invested in a Christian Nationalist America. Basic human rights will be repealed under the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 policy agenda. As a President with unlimited power, Donald Trump has promised to arrest and detain his perceived enemies. Ethnic and religious minorities will be deported or placed in detention centres. Regardless of background, American women will lose the right to further education and reproductive healthcare. Older Americans will lose social security provisions. The only means for the American people to push back against this promised authoritarian government is to vote overwhelmingly for democracy. https://lnkd.in/ekxXQXhr

Indeed, I agree. You would think that people want to be part of the solution and move towards a better society for all people! This is an example of Actions speak louder than words. These actions say a lot about the university and where they stand. They choose to live in the past where this choice was maybe valid for that era but anno 2024, where they should know better because of all the unlimited information galore is happening. I can only wonder if they are lost in space because, on earth, we all are informed now that companies that are diverse, equitable, and inclusive ( DEI) are better able to respond to challenges, win top talent, and meet the needs of different customers. The question is not; did implementing DEI work in their company? Because in their case we all can guess the answer. The main question is how did they execute DEI. It’s an easy excuse to point the finger and find a scapegoat but it would be better to see where the company's real inadequate behavior lies. Thanks for sharing this on LinkedIn Liz Ryan. This is just ridiculous for words. This is where knowledge isn’t power comes from. It’s what you do with the knowledge that makes you powerful. Change your behavior, change your life!

Politicians ban things they are afraid of. They ban books when they are afraid of ideas. They ban DEI programs when they are afraid of equality and representation.

Many critics have labeled Heritage Project 2025 as “authoritarian", "draconian", "dystopian", "dictatorship", "unconstitutional". The project relies on what legal scholars call the unitary executive theory, which dismisses the idea that there are three separate branches of government for checks and balances. Rather, proponents of the theory argue that Article 2 of the Constitution allows the president to have total authority over the executive branch. Some "highlights" (?): - Fire any or all federal workers, replace with only those swearing loyalty to the President - Ban media from government, except for right outlets - Control "free speech" - Dismantle Department of Education - Dismantle EPA, all climate legislation, pollution controls and replace with more oil and gas drilling - Ban all diversity, racial and sex protection language - Deport any and all immigrants at will - Allow teaching of (only) Christian religion in all schools, public or private - Ban all abortions or medications, possibly birth control - President (only conservatives in the future) have full authority to rule by decree - Dismantle the FBI as now, use it to hunt political opponents - Eliminate the Federal Reserve - Return to Gold Standard (gone 100 years ago) - Miltarize border, martial law in cities

Project 2025 will essentially undermine all advancement, legislatively and socially, in areas of Equity and Diversity across the Federal government, making way for States to avoid federal oversight at all levels of policy. It will basically take us back to the Jim Crow era! https://lnkd.in/gSYPVaxz

1/1: Thomas Jefferson’s Influence on the American Constitution: Balancing Arms, Rights, and Democracy Scientific Summary of Psychological Thought Process Towards Humanity Thomas Jefferson, a Founding Father of the United States, was deeply influenced by the Enlightenment ideals of human reason and individual liberty. His writings reflect a belief in the inherent rights and rational capacities of human beings, advocating for educational and societal structures that foster these attributes. Jefferson’s psychological approach to governance emphasized the role of informed and morally upright citizens in maintaining a democratic society, which is evident in his advocacy for a free press and public education. Key Role of Fire Power in the Constitution Against Democratic Choices Jefferson’s quotation on the right to arms reflects a broader 18th-century republican thought that considered militias essential for the defense of personal liberties and state sovereignty against potential federal overreach. Though not directly involved in the drafting of the U.S. Constitution, Jefferson’s ideas influenced the Bill of Rights, including the Second Amendment, which protects the right to keep and bear arms. This provision aimed to balance the power between the state and its citizens, ensuring that government remains a servant, not a master, echoing Jefferson’s insistence on safeguards against tyranny. Public Rights Protection by Constitution The U.S. Constitution, influenced by Jeffersonian principles, incorporates several mechanisms to protect individual freedoms and rights. The Bill of Rights, ratified in 1791, explicitly safeguards liberties such as freedom of speech, assembly, and religion, along with the right to a fair trial and the aforementioned right to bear arms. These amendments reflect Jefferson’s advocacy for a robust set of civil liberties to guard against governmental abuse and to ensure a free, participatory democracy.
