Had an amazing 48 hours at Transform earlier this week! 📚 Learned a lot 🤝 Built valuable connections (and re-connected with old ones) 🐶 Enjoyed some puppy love! A huge shoutout to OMERS Ventures for hosting a thought-provoking HR Confidential session. We dove into discussing failures, their potential to propel us forward, and the nuances of building a strong CEO/CPO relationship. Remember, what happens at HR Confidential, stays there! One prevalent theme resonated throughout the conference: "People Leaders as Growth Catalysts" As People leaders, our role has evolved beyond just people strategy—we now shape organizational strategy. The challenges of recent years have spotlighted the People function, emphasizing our significant impact on the success of the business. In the enthusiastic words of Dean Carter, "We don't just have a seat at the table, we have a whole damn chunk of the table!" Now that we have this piece of real estate, how do we lean in and make the most of it? To start, I'm asking myself: 🎯 Is my People strategy aligned closely with the goals of the business? 💼 Am I deeply involved in all business areas, building credibility and understanding each role's impact? 🚀 Am I staying ahead in technology? 🤝 Am I aligned with leadership to drive positive transformation? If the above is a part of our way of working, it's almost certain that we will build stronger alignment and credibility, becoming a trusted advisor to propel our businesses forward, into the future of work 🙌 If you made it this far in my ramblings, I salute you 😅 If you're also a people leader, I hope this sparks ideas about how we can push the envelope and make use of that chunk of the table 💪 #transform2024 #futureofwork #peopleleaders #chro

VP of Partnerships, Global Advisory & Tech Consulting | Dayforce | Business and Startup Strategy | HCM, HR Tech & Insurtech | Making Work Life Better
🤔 I've always harbored a strong aversion to the term "best practice." It's not that I reject the pursuit of excellence — in fact, it's quite the opposite. My aversion stems from the tendency to use this term as a shield 🛡 against change. ⏩ Too often “our practices” are confused with “best practices”. Growth in our dynamic world demands flexibility and an openness to alternatives. Growth requires #innovation. Rather than imagining we’ve considered all of the infinite possibilities and have chosen those practices that are “best” (for now and for all time), let's engage in a continuous conversation of #growth. This is not a rejection of excellence but an invitation to ➡ ✴ question, ✴ evolve, ✴ adapt, and in that #process, uncover practices that (for now) seem to work very well to support our growth while allowing for the likelihood that the practices that work well today..... will almost certainly stand in the way of growth tomorrow. 👉 Here's to embracing the uncharted, and to discovering new practices that redefine what "best" truly means. 🌟 ❓ What are thoughts on "best practices" and innovation? Thank you Steve Goldberg for the LinkedIn post conversation that sparked this post. #HRTech #Leadership #GenAI #Dayforce

How often does your *entire* team step back from daily tasks to strategize together? My guess is that most leaders would say... "Never" or "We can't" or "Only in a leadership off-site"... and in many cases, they would be right. Even so, I learned this week that when it's possible (not easy, just not impossible) to pause and gather, the result is pretty impressive. I attended my first Truity Partners Annual Team Meeting this week, and I have to say - WOW! The collaboration, camaraderie, and creativity that flowed through that 36-ish hours of togetherness blew me away. I'll be sharing insights on everything from leveraging AI to streamlining my own day-to-day tasks in upcoming posts. For now, I'm stuck (in a good way) on this idea: Inviting everyone to the proverbial table is costly: logistics, potential disagreements, financial commitment, etc. are a significant investment. - AND - I saw the return first-hand this week in deep collaboration across markets, accelerated progress in day-to-day operations, and a clear collective vision for the future. #TruityPartners #employeeengagement #innovation #teambuilding #culturematters

Leaders have a significant impact on an organisation’s culture. They help set the agenda, prioritise work, lead, delegate & manage. Strong leaders provide vision, purpose, mentorship, and inspiration to those they lead. Such an influence over others can be either positive or negative based on the leadership style & execution of strategy, but both good & bad leadership are bound to shape the culture in the workplace. Effective leadership is among the most important fundamentals for a strong culture. So leaders need to be deliberate in creating a culture where employees can thrive, as failing to do so can be detrimental to employees & the bottom line, eventually affecting the business on a whole. At The WayFinders Group we’re pretty keen on #politics and we are hugely proud of Nadia B. for the way she demonstrated diligence, consistency, and adaptive leadership as she ran in the #GE2024. However (after negligible 💤), we’re at #Nudgestock2024 today and are acutely aware that change isn’t the future: change is now. Yesterday, the The New York Times ran with a UK election story headline: “…Change Is in the Air. Optimism, Not So Much.” Change makes people feel uncomfortable. Change creates uncertainty and conflict and degrees of chaos. Not all change is good. But change creates opportunities and unexpected benefits for people, organisations and communities. Introducing The WayFinders Group. We’re all about empowering leaders to unearth a new way to solve old problems. We are a multi-disciplinary org change consultancy and we have decades of collective experience embarking on an unconventional path. We’ve been created for such a time as this. If you need to chart an uncharted path - apparently 95% of CEOs recognise this is essential for corporate survival - but don’t know where to turn, we get it, we see you, and we’ve got your back. Visit our *new* website at www.charttheuncharted.com or email us today on contact@charttheuncharted.com or phone us on 020 8058 3920 for a free consultation. Whatever you’re facing, we’ll help you find a way. Chart the uncharted, make a difference. #thewayfindersgroup #wayfinders #innovation #management #change #transformation #leadership #ai #governance #strategy #time

Happy Thursday, everyone! This week, we've explored various aspects of leadership, culture, and training that drive financial efficiency. Today, we focus on the importance of building sustainable teams that are not just effective in the short term but are designed for long-term success. Sustainable teams are the backbone of any thriving organization. They reduce the constant churn of recruitment and training costs and create a stable environment that encourages innovation and growth. Here’s how leaders can foster sustainability in their teams: Diverse Skill Sets: Encourage a mix of skills that complement each other, reducing dependency on any single member and allowing for flexible role fulfillment. Career Pathing: Clearly defined career paths help retain top talent by showing team members a future within the organization. Continuous Learning: Invest in ongoing training and development to keep skills sharp and employees engaged. The result? Teams that are resilient, adaptable, and ready to meet future challenges head-on. Want to know more about creating sustainable teams that save costs and drive your company forward? Reach out to FRAGO22. We specialize in developing strategies that enhance team cohesion and longevity. #SustainableTeams #TeamBuilding #LeadershipExcellence #OrganizationalHealth #EmployeeRetention #ThursdayThoughts #TeamDevelopment #FRAGO22 #FragoFragments

"The earlier you engage your people to shape the change, the easier it is to enable difficult changes to happen…. Without this engagement, companies learned the hard way that people can’t seem to get over their fear of technology, struggle to understand why they should change what seemed to be working well, and even insist that leadership has it all wrong and is actually harming the company.” — Paul Leinwand and Mahadeva Matt Mani, Strategy+Business https://lnkd.in/g9zZkTjg These insights remind us of the critical importance of early and active engagement with our teams during times of transformation. By involving our people from the start, we not only ease the transition but also empower them to become champions of change. Let's prioritize communication and collaboration to drive successful outcomes and foster a culture of innovation and adaptability. Investing in our people means investing in our future success. Tech and processes don’t lead to high-impact, sustainable change—people do. If you’re undergoing a transformation, consider starting with people’s hearts and minds. Think: What’s in it for them? This is a key insight shared by North Highland CEO Alex Bombeck in his interview with The CEO Show. I learned a lot from it, including why progress over perfection is key 🔑. Check it out 👇 #DigitalTransformation #TheCEOShow
