Occupational Balance “…a relative state, recognizable by a happy or pleasant integration of life activities and demands” Backman (2004) I like the idea of Occupational Balance being a stool of life... ACTIVITY: thinking about the three core domains of everyday life (self-care, productivity and leisure) is your stool of life in balance... I know often as a Mother my lack of attention to self-care can make my stool a little wobbly! Taking time to do things just for me always helps me feel more balance... I mean who doesn't love a "me" day!! #occupationaltherapy #occupationalbalance #wellbeing #selfcare

As we wrap up another school half-term, my thoughts are with working parents managing the juggle of childcare and their career 🙃 It isn't easy and many of you may have the eye twitch[es] to prove it, just like me 🤣 🌟 Exciting news: Starting April 2024, a new Act (Employment Relations (Flexible Working) Act) enables employees to submit a flexible working request from day one of their employment. How to balance work and motherhood? Balancing work and motherhood can be challenging, but with thoughtful planning and self-care, it is possible to create a fulfilling and manageable routine. Here are some tips to help you balance work and motherhood: 4. Effective Time Management: - Use time management techniques such as the Pomodoro Technique or time blocking to enhance productivity during work hours. Break your day into focused work intervals with short breaks in between. 5. Delegate and Seek Help: - Don't hesitate to delegate tasks at work and seek support from family, friends, or hired help for childcare responsibilities. Sharing responsibilities can alleviate some of the pressure. 6. Communication with Employer: - Open communication with your employer about your needs and challenges is crucial. Discuss flexible work arrangements, such as remote work options or flexible hours, if possible.

"I need to be more intentional with my time, but I don't know how" I hear some version of this on 100/100 client discovery calls. I hear from professional women, 10+ years into their careers who have hustled to get where they are, put in extra time, worked nights and weekends, never really thinking about work life balance because it just didn't matter as much! But now with added professional responsibilities and personal responsibilities ⏰ A work project that takes an extra hour...means not making it home for bedtime ⏰ Signing their kids up for an after school activity means rethinking an entire work day. ⏰ And the "go with the flow", "Just work harder and longer hours" mentality that allowed them to get here....feels impossible with so many more pulls on their time These clients join the Unapologetic Living Code to finally learn how to achieve work life balance without having to compromise on their professional goals On Monday March 25th at 1:00pm I'm going to be running a free training sharing the frameworks they use with you so you can finally achieve the work life balance you're doubting even exists! You can grab your spot HERE and join us for The Myth of Work-Life Balance: The one strategy professional moms need to achieve work life balance without taking anything off their plate https://lnkd.in/gdmySu2J
