ICYMI, the Brazilian Data Protection Authority ( Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados ) just issued this morning a decision with a preliminary restriction for the validity of the new privacy policy of a major social networking provider, based on its use of data for training its AI tools. There is also a daily penalty for non-compliance. It is a very interesting decision, and investigation, as #ANPD is becoming an active player in the space between #privacy and #AIGovernance in Brazil. I am sure the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals will provide more information about it soon, as the news are still developing. The preliminary decision, in Portuguese, was published today at the Official Gazzette ( link below).
ANPD's Director, Arthur Pereira Sabbat, also published a post in Portuguese regarding today´s decision. https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7213843387991400450/
