Day #3 IBM #THNIK2024 "The future of AI is open" I'll be honest, after two days of non-stop announcements and excitement at #IBMTHINK2024, I thought today would be a wrap-up with not much more to surprise me. But boy, was I wrong! #Day3 of the #Think Event has been a masterclass in exceeding expectations. The deep dive sessions, roundtable discussions, and demos have been incredibly insightful and thought-provoking. And then came the keynote by Dario Gil -He said " Don't be an #AI user, be an AI value creator".- His Closing Keynote was packed and received a well-deserved standing ovation. Dario Gil's keynote was focused on how to safely and securely bring enterprise data into a new representation to create value. He emphasized the importance of starting with a trusted base model that has #transparency, #performance, and broad commercial rights. He introduced the #Granite Series of models, which are open-source and have been released under an Apache 2 license, providing maximum freedom of action and rights. The models have been trained on various tasks such as #codewriting, #timeseries, and #geospatial analysis, and have achieved state-of-the-art performance. Dr. Gil also introduced a new methodology called #InstructLab, which enables incremental skill teaching and progressive improvement of the model's capabilities. This methodology allows for the addition of new skills and knowledge to the model without losing its generality, and has been shown to be more efficient and effective than traditional fine-tuning methods. The speech also highlighted the importance of collaboration and creating value with customers, and announced the release of #redhat Enterprise #Linux AI and #WatsonX, which will provide a supported and scalable platform for developers to build and deploy AI models.
