What is tomorrow's workplace, and how can we make it better? Generations in Conversations was a #multigenerational conversation organized by Ark and HLW. It focused on the #workplace opportunities, recognizing a future where four generations of workers, each with different values and needs, will collaborate under one roof. As workplace strategy experts, Ark envisions the potential and possibilities for workplaces that foster #inclusivity, with a strong emphasis on emotional and mental wellbeing. We are onto subject number 4 in our Top 10 groupings for #EmployerBrand associations, as chosen by 20,000+ UK professionals in 2023, and as a prelude to their release next week. This one is a fascinating one. CREATIVE & DYNAMIC WORK ENVIRONMENT. Whilst the hallmark of 'old-school' employer brand content; high-fives in corridors, coffee-machine chatter, foosball table camaraderie and sticky-note laden meeting rooms; it's interesting, and understandable, that within Universum's talent research in the responses of preferred features of an employer, this subject dipped significantly in the pandemic period. What care is a 'dynamic work environment' if we are not in the office? And whilst this is as much about the work, as the physical environment, naturally the emphasis is visual. Well in our 2023 professional research released next week, we see that elements that are by implication around the workplace, have risen in popularity again. All of sudden the subject is back on the radar as our office presence gradually increases. "If I'm going into the office, I want to feel like I'm going there for some real value" - we are all familiar with this sentiment. So yes - here we are. America's 100 Most Loved Workplaces 2022 is out, with the list highlighting some of the best companies to work for in the US. Check out the list to see who made the cut:

News flash: We're lonely. According to data commissioned by Cigna, more than half of U.S. adults (58%) consider themselves lonely. This is fairly consistent with pre-pandemic research that showed 61% of adults experiencing loneliness in 2019, after a seven percentage point increase from 2018. More than twice as many younger adults as older adults experience feeling left out. Parents and guardians are more likely to be lonely than non-parents (65% compared with 55%). More than 42% of lonely employees said they were “mentally somewhere else” while at work in the past three months – more than double that of non-lonely workers (18%). Cigna reports that among the top things companies can do to help their employees through this is help build and reinforce social connectivity at work and in the community. "Prioritize activities that bring people together in-person and virtually," their report states. "Leverage all opportunities, including team meetings and events, volunteer activities, employee resource groups, and more to establish connections between coworkers, managers, and senior leaders. Even larger meetings, such as town hall events, can boost connectivity by featuring employees, inspirational customer stories, and real-time engagement opportunities." Here are some interesting statistics: ⚖️ 63% of employees with a good work-life balance are willing to go above and beyond for their organisation. 🔥 38% of employees are experiencing symptoms of burnout. The top driver of burnout is ineffective processes and systems. When employees feel that their organisation embodies similar values: 🙌 They’re 27% more likely to have higher engagement scores. ⌛ And 23% more likely to stay working for more than 3 years.
