Great news - ARC Challenge is back! This is possibly one of the tougher challenges out there as you have to learn from limited examples. It tests the ability of a system to generalise fast and to unknown patterns. One key limitation is that the code needs to run <12 hours on a GPU-based notebook without internet access, so you have to bend your head around this one (aka no OpenAI APIs etc.) in order to get a solution working. I have always been fascinated by the ARC Challenge, and even have attempted to solve it (https://lnkd.in/gh_ZjTDn), so it will be interesting to see how far the tech landscape has changed since then to solve this challenge again!

What happens when you apply AI to big traffic data? One answer: a system that predicts where congestion will occur and how bad it will be. That's the promise of QTNN (queueing theory-based neural network), a system developed by Kyoto University and Sumitomo Electric System Solutions. In experiments done at more than 1,000 road locations in Tokyo, QTNN predicted the length of car queues an hour ahead of time with greater accuracy than other systems being used today. In the future, AI systems like QTNN could be used to help drivers avoid traffic jams and also improve how traffic signals are controlled.
