Is business school worth it? If you’re an early-career product manager working in tech, this question has probably crossed your mind. I spent the last three months writing this guide to share everything I wish I’d known back when I made the decision myself. If you’re weighing this decision at the moment, I’d love to hear from you! I have a day of virtual office hours coming up, and I’m open to doing virtual Q&A sessions with APMs. Reach out anytime: diana@matrixpartners.com #mba #productmanagement #career #business #tech https://lnkd.in/gXVPBib

Absolutely love this Diana Kimball Berlin! So many great nuggets for anyone considering an MBA, even if not a PM background. These decision-making frameworks are also clearly applicable to many of life's questions; I'm a big fan of de-bundling (e.g. imagine all three options paid you $x00,000 - which option now feels best?) and love the examples you gave. Thanks for writing this! Hope you go for the book ;)

Interesting read! I chose NOT to attend a full-time MBA program and DO regret that decision. I chose not to attend because I couldn't make the financial ROI positive; I have since learned that that you cannot value what you don't experience. I chose not to attend because I didn't want to "pay for new friends"; I have since learned that the friends you make as an an adult among adults who have made the same choice as you are really different than those you make in college, when everyone is still figuring out who they are. I chose not to attend because I had an undergraduate business degree from Wharton already; I have since learned the value of a growth mindset and taking time to pause and reflect. Also, I have yet to meet someone who did a full-time MBA program what regrets the decision to attend :)

I sent this article to someone on my team contemplating business school who said this write up is "incredible" and that she will "reference it a ton over the next year." This is super useful even for people who aren't PMs, great work!
