Managing Director at Endeavor

The theme of this month's post: momentum. Our team has been hitting the pavement this Spring and Summer, and we have seen so much momentum lately across the region, that I haven’t been able to stop and properly address some of the beautiful events and happenings we’ve been involved in until now. Earlier this month, Endeavor teams from around the U.S., Ireland, and Canada came together for a staff retreat in Buffalo, New York. I never forget what a talented, lively, brilliant, and warm group of colleagues we have at Endeavor, but our retreats bring me a deeper sense of gratitude every year when we all spend time together. Thanks to Alan Rosenhoch and Alex Killian for hosting a wonderful three days of re-focusing, learning, having fun, eating Buffalo wings, teaching everyone how to play ping pong, getting drenched in Niagara Falls, and making new connections across Endeavor U.S. The retreat was followed by our 5th National Selection Panel (NSP) in Buffalo, which brought together business leaders and entrepreneurs from across seven U.S. cities to select entrepreneurs into our national network. The NSP is an integral step in Endeavor’s rigorous Global Selection Process that puts participants one step away from completion. Earlier this spring, Detroit-based Adarsh Rachmale, Founder and CEO of CoverTree passed the Louisville NSP with flying colors. Adarsh is a shining example of a founder dedicated to staying and scaling in their community and CoverTree is a reflection of the many high-growth gems coming out of Detroit and the greater Midwest – we're excited to work alongside him over the coming years providing him access to our local, national, and global resources. Next, I have had the honor of judging the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Michigan and Northwest Ohio 2024 awards for the last two years. In seeing the caliber of entrepreneurs coming out of our region, it continues to be difficult selecting so few winners from such a varied mix of entrepreneurs. I was honored to sit as a panelist with Tamira Chapman, Barbara Yolles Ludwig, Damien Rocchi, Tom Ross, Mark White, Kelly Preston, and Daryl Adams and to work with the incredible EY team (Angie Kelly, Danielle Stanek (DeBiasi), Joe Lenglet, Laura Trosper). Congratulations to all of the finalists and this year’s winners! Moreover, we’re seeing a big uptick in growing companies coming out of the Great Lakes and have loved witnessing the energy coming from ID Ventures Portfolio Summit, MI Central Station's launch, helping with this year’s MI Tech Week, gearing up for TechChicago Week events, ramping back up InnovateHer events, bringing founders together at founder lunches/dinners across SE MI and Chicago… and so much more. Excited for all that the second half of the year has in store for our region!
