More than just celebrating International Women's Day, we should and have a duty to reflect on the impact that women leaders and beyond have had and continue to have in our workplaces. Their influence inspires innovation, promotes diversity and change. Today I had the pleasure, at the invitation of the APCC - Associação Portuguesa de Centros Comerciais and Eng.ª Cristina Santos, of meeting 4 inspiring women who are much more than leaders in boardrooms, they are women with unique perspectives, with experiences of empathy and resilience. Leadership is not just about making decisions, but also about promoting collaboration between teams, people and women, and developing their talent. In Portugal, we are increasingly witnessing a transformative change as more and more women rise to leadership positions in various sectors. Still a long way to go, but getting closer.

Today Aurelie Van Ravestyn and I organized an inspiring session regarding Female Leadership ManpowerGroup Belgium with ANN CATTELAIN CEO Federgon. What we mainly remember from this session is that women in leadership should be more assertive and seize the opportunities when they arise. Women should dare to jump when the opportunity arises instead of waiting to be asked. Where men are more present, women work in silence and are more reticent in showing their skills. It is important that leaders are aware of this and do not lose sight of women when promotions occur. As a woman, you don't always feel ready to take on a new challenge. Therefore, it is important to support talents and give each other compliments and feedback to boost confidence. Don't let doubt stop you from seizing opportunities. Society today is ready to embrace female leadership. It is the momentum for women to seize their opportunity. Mathilde Lambin-Ruinart, Kristien Martens, Tamara Thomas, Sophie Van Coppenolle, An Vanassche and Kizzy Beniako thank you for participating and sharing your insights during this session.

In our fast-paced professional lives, it's easy to focus solely on the end result—the successful projects, the accolades, the promotions—without acknowledging the transformative journey that led us there. Just as the butterfly undergoes a profound metamorphosis, we too experience growth, setbacks, and moments of self-discovery along our career paths. Maya Angelou's words remind us to embrace the process, to honor the challenges that shape our resilience, and to find beauty in the journey. As leaders, let's inspire others by sharing not only our achievements but also the stories of perseverance and growth that define our success. By celebrating our journeys authentically, we empower ourselves and those around us to embrace the beauty of transformation. I connect people (from different generations) at work | Diversity, Equity & Inclusion lead | Gen Z'er, speaker, trainer and moderator | Contact? Mail: info@inclusyoung.nl | Certified LinkedIn Top Voice 2023/2024 NextGen
Different generations: a wealth of diversity What we often seem to forget, is that having different generations and members of different ages on your team is a form of diversity. As most people know by now, having diversity (provided it is accompanied by inclusion) leads to: - More profit; - Better and more sustainable decisions; - Attracting different customers and tapping into more diverse customer pools; - Increased retention; - More vitality and fewer sick days. Having a multi-generational team, where all members are treated equitable, is proven to also have these positive side effects (and apart of the business case, it is also the right thing to do, of course). However, we oftentimes do not yet see age as a diversity factor - it is a given and we do not necessarily dwell on it. Yet age does influence how you look at the world, how you deal with things and what you find important. I see few generational experts making the link between the dimension of age/generation and diversity yet, but I know that they are intrinsically linked. This is why I am so proud and grateful that the Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations (ECWO) ís really connecting the two and that they have invited me to speak on this coming Friday during their Inclusive Leadership conference. Thank you Diane Coetzer & Dorothy Grandia. I would love to see you there! You can sign yourself up via the link in the comment section (only a few tickets left).

The conclusion of the Hispanic Leadership Summit held at the United Nations brought to me the repeating mantra... “Wake up. You have been asleep for too long” Throughout my last 30 years living in the US as a Mexican, my culture, identity, and family were the most significant sources of resiliency and power. Now, we are experiencing a confluence of societal phenomena that is creating the perfect alignment to use these as a propelling force for all. ✨ Latin@s are an economic powerhouse with $3.2 Trillion in GDP. ✨ Latin@s are “de moda”. It is now fashionable to embrace our Latinidad (gone are the days when we had to hide the fact that we spoke Spanish). ✨ Latin@s are set to wield tremendous power as the majority of our people are in their contributing prime. We need a catalyst to transform all this potential into actualized action, and it is you, me, and all of us: ✔ Our Beliefs ✔ Our Engagement ✔ Our Conversation But above all, the certainty about a future that is possible, one where we collaborate and understand that everyone is needed to build prosperity I dreamt earlier this year about going to the United Nations to do good, I didn’t imagine that I would be there as a partner of We Are All Human Foundation , enabling SafeSpace Plus ™ and providing the tools and framework so that everyone can contribute their full potential. Gracias Claudia Romo Edelman for modelling courage and action. Grateful for the past that has prepared me for the work I am doing today, creating Safe Spaces for all, and excited for the changing paradigms of the future that will launch us all forward towards a place of thriving together. #HispanicLeadershipForum #HLS2023 #SafeSpacePlus #SafeSpacesforAll #TogetherWeShine

Female participation in leadership positions has been a topic of discussion and demand by professionals and companies around the world. The "Girls in Aviation" project, created by Jacqueline Conrado, country manager for United Airlines in Brazil, aims to demystify the aviation sector, highlighting that women can perform any role, from technical to leadership positions. In a recent interview on "Mundo Corporativo (CBN)", the Country Manager highlighted the importance of having role models and praised the culture of United Airlines, which promotes an environment of growth. She highlighted: "We can't be what we don't see." Country Manager Hub not only supports the female leadership initiative, but its entire staff is made up of renowned professionals in their fields, supporting companies and facilitating the hiring of Country Managers for expansion in Brazil and abroad. Professional development is crucial to an individual’s growth. What you can create and do in your professional career depends on the capacity you hold in relation to your education, knowledge, and skills. No matter how broad this capacity is, there is always room to increase your capabilities. Take this as your sign to invest in your professional development. Recognising and acknowledging women in your workforce is just one way to help create a sustainable and successful pipeline of women and thus their retention in your organisation who have the opportunity to lead, learn and collaborate. #professionaldevelopment #femaleleadership #leadership #womeninleadership #careers #careerdevelopment #goals #futureworkforce #womeninmining #stemcareers #stem
