What started with a casual coffee on March 27 ended with an extraordinary successful event that was equal to none on June 6. I always tell this real story to everyone who I meet to encourage others to see the opprtunities and not the obstacles in every situation they face. I know Emir Ozgundogdu since my days at the The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. and yet I never knew his true value and potential until earlier this year when I started planning for the 77th Italian National Day. His capability to see the opportunity in an event that was never considered to take place in his hotel (The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai) simply created a new benchmark for the coming event in 2024. He planned everything with other extraordinary team members (a big shout to Souraya Beydoun) with a sense of pride and at the same time harmony, making it sound as this was the only event the Hotel was focusing on. This is also a great example that in life we might not even start as everyone else at the start line or even be in pole position (as the Ritz-Carlton Dubai was initially not even among the bidding hotels) and yet we can eventually get in the race and with a great team support and appropriate circumstances win it (just as they did winning both our minds and hearts). If you’re in a sales and service industry try to work on listening more and finding the potential and opportunities, and not stay focused on what cannot be done. I believe essence of a day off lies in finding solace and rejuvenation while breaking away from the demands of the regular work-day. 3. Of course all of them, but If I have to choose one, I pick Amici 🙂 I generally appreciate Italian restaurants for a myriad of reasons such as Flavorful Cuisine, Family-Friendly Ambiance, Culinary Versatility, Wine Selection and of course desserts (my favorite part 🙂)

I did so many interviews with you within a 9 long year by working in the field of Sales, they are making so many stages of hiring people processes that most of my friends, colleagues, relatives and just mutual friends are telling the last interview with the manager they passed successfully but didn’t get call back or wasn’t get in touch… cos all the 3 or 4 steps they passed carefully,PROFESSIONALY and patiently and in the end they comes to know that they hired someone totally NOT MATCHING THEIR REQUIREMENTS AND FROM COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FIELD SUCH AS FOOD AND BEVERAGE OF HOTEL OR MAYBE RECEPTIONISTS, MAYBE JUST A DRIVER… SO WHY YOU HAVE WASTED AND GIVING SUCH FAKE HOPES TO THE CANDIDATES? MOST OF THE TIME I CAN SEE YOU JUST HIRED A FRIENDS WITH NO EXPERIENCE AND VERY POOR ENGLISH AND NEW IN DUBAI WITH 0 EXPERIENCE, THEN WHY YOU HAVE TO DO ALL THIS CIRCUS 🤡 BY ASKING AND REQUIRING A EXEPTIONAL LUXURY EXPERIENCE IS MUST AND SO ON? And WHEN IT COMES TO US WHO REALLY HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE IN LUXURY TOUCH OR A SALES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU NEVER EVER HIRE THEM……. THATS REALLY UNFARE! FEELS LIKE YOU ARE AFRAID OF THEM, AVOIDING THEM COS THE MANAGERS ARE AFRAID TO LOOSE THEIR POSITIONS BY HIRING PASSONATE AND STRONG 💪 CANDIDATE. LIKE TO GET A JOB AND BEING HIRED WE SHOULD’T HAVE ANY BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE, POOR ENGLISH AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEN to BE QUIET 🤫 (COS MOSTLY I CAN SEE YOU ARE HIRING THOSE WHO KEEP QUIET AND EVEN NOT OPENING THEIR MOUTH DURING THE INTERVIEW) AND TO BE NEW IN DUBAI? Hotel Sales PSA - Game changer to win more business? Maybe you've uttered the following phrases... "Do I have rabies?" "Is my car ready yet?" "Will they call me back despite how long I was in the bathroom?" Think about those anxious minutes/hours/days you waited for a return call/text/email from your doctor, mechanic or date you just went on. Didn't it feel great when they got back to you right away? I'm inclined to patronize businesses that respect my time and don't leave me hanging. Prioritize getting back to your clients in a timely manner. Who remembers when securing a great hotel sales job was all about, being a name someone knew the local market, your little black book of contacts and networking with fellow hoteliers was part of your working week. It’s not what you know, but who you know. Now don’t get me wrong these things are all important in many ways, but in my earlier career I know I was much more focused on my customers, my internal network & my personal development then being in the ‘clique’ as I saw it back then. I think it’s served me well, I might not be the most infamous person in my field, but what I do pride myself on is the credibility of my network, authenticity in what I do, which has ultimately led me to some incredible successes over the years. The landscape of sales recruitment in our industry has most definitely changed and I certainly think for the better. When I recruit, I am not looking for the person who has the biggest reputation. Personal branding is super important but I am more interested in someone’s credibility both on & offline. These would be my top tips to consider: 1️⃣It’s important to define your values before considering the job - it’s not just about can you do the job, it’s also about what the employer can do for you to 2️⃣Do your research first on the company or brand, is it the right fit for you and your personal values 3️⃣Preparation is everything, study the JD and make sure you have your questions for the interviewer, it’s a two way conversation 4️⃣Think before you answer, don’t BS if you don’t know the answer 5️⃣Listen, might sound obvious but the amount of times I have had people not answer my question, it’s ok to clarify 6️⃣Be genuine & show an interest, be curious about the role & the company 7️⃣Be grateful for the opportunity but you are there for a reason your skills & experience, leave a good impression not your eternal thanks #sales #salesrecruitment #recruitment #people #credibility #personalbranding #authenticity #hotels #hospitality #standout
