Today we celebrated- World Mental Health Day. The theme for 2023 is - “Mental health is a basic universal human right.” There are so many organizations and institutions that do not see this as a problem and have not as yet created a space where we feel comfortable enough to talk about what we are experiencing and going through. The stigma that surrounds Mental Health is still a massive problem that needs to be addressed. As an individual you can do your bit. Ask those around you " are you ok?" and really listen with care and empathy. It seems so simple yet there are so few that do. Let’s make a difference and start helping those in our care. #worldmentalhealtday2023 #makeadifference #mentalhealthmatters #bekindalways

What if the President of the United States shared challenges he’s had with his mental health? Veteran educator and PRACTICE board member Ernest Logan and CEO Karim Abouelnaga talk about the importance of mental health. There are two things to keep in mind: 1. We are all human regardless of our titles and have to manage our mental health. 2. Vulnerability precedes trust. When leaders open up about their personal experiences they create safe spaces for others around them to open up too. #education #k12 #equity #urbaneducation #mentalhealthawareness #edchat #schoolleadership

May is Mental Health Awareness Month This national observance was started in 1949 by Mental Health America to bring attention to the importance of mental well-being. This is a time to promote awareness, offer education and resources, and advocate for change. While society is getting more comfortable discussing mental health, stigma still exists. 💡Many Americans do not have access to high-quality, evidence-based treatment and care when they need it. 💡 Less than ½ of adults in the United States with mental illness received treatment in 2021. 💡1 in 5 adults experience mental illness each year. 💡1 in 6 youth in the United Stated have a mental health condition but only half receive treatment. Please take the time to talk about mental health and to create communities that value and support mental well-being. #MHAM2024 #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #selfcare #mindset #wellness #mentalwellbeing #stopthestigma

World Mental Health Day is a crucial reminder that mental health is essential to our lives. Tracey Parry, our Human Resources Director, emphasised the importance of this day in starting conversations about mental health and encouraging our colleagues, loved ones, and friends to seek help whenever they need it, regardless of what they might be going through. Tracey added, "This year's theme, Mental Health Is a Universal Human Right, calls upon us to unite and support one another in breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health. Let's join to promote mental well-being and raise awareness about the importance of seeking help when it's needed." #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #BreakTheStigma!
