So cool to see Gratitude Letters featured on NBCUniversal Nightly News in such a meaningful way. Last year, teachers at a middle school near Detroit wrote letters of thanks to their students. Now, the students are taking a turn thanking their former elementary school teachers. Proof that a small act can go a long way. By intentionally practicing skills like Gratitude Letter Writing, we can all learn to experience, enhance, and express more gratitude. https://lnkd.in/enYR4fMu Try out this positive intervention for yourself: https://lnkd.in/efV48uwu #Gratitude #SayThanks #PositivePsychology

“What was the best bit about today?” In life, there will always be hardships. Rather than shielding children from these hardships, we want to ensure that we, as a school, have educated children with strategies so that they feel stronger when they inevitably have to face them. Focusing on gratitude can help build resilience. For adults, keeping a gratitude diary has gained a lot of good press in recent years in supporting us through hardships. For Nursery children, we achieve the same aims by phrasing questions that focus on finding the positives in a day such as, “what was the best bit of today?” For the full article included in the March edition of the Early Years Educator, please see the link below. https://lnkd.in/e4xg2GGq

In a recent edition of Exchange Every Day dedicated to embracing families, communities, and culture, Monica Wells, our family and community program administrator, shared her deep connection to families and communities and how it positively impacts children's success. "Strong, authentic relationships between our families, students, and educators are key. We must speak life into our students, cheer them on, teach them the skills, and provide the tools they need to be prepared for the future. We must show examples of the power, importance, and necessity of community." Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gc7ur8uu
