I have been developing some thoughts related to innovation in healthcare post the COVID-19 pandemic. I think that COVID exposed weaknesses in our healthcare system, As a result of Covid we noted that the locus and site of healthcare delivery services could no longer just be office-based. Especially during COVID-19 and the isolation that all of us required caused patients to have barriers going to their appointments. So our system had to be infused with virtual treatment opportunities. As a result of this transition, I have identified trends for innovators and healthcare investors 1) Companies need to shift from specialty care to including primary care delivered closer to the patient 2) Expand the delivery of the Urgent Care Center 3) Expand the use of telehealth 4) Expand the capacity of home health As a person involved in healthcare innovation, I am thinking about how our innovations could create action steps to this gap, I welcome the questions and or discussion.
