United States Department of Defense’s Post

Modernizing threat detection systems is a key priority for the DoD. With that in mind, the Army recently awarded a contract to acquire high-altitude business jets that will support prototyping efforts for the High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System. HADES is the Army’s next-gen aerial intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance system, and these jets are expected to increase the range, speed and endurance of those missions.

Nice to see this critical program moving forward. We found in Iraq and Afghanistan that you can never have too much ISR and especially ISR that isn’t focused only on high value targets.

Why would you name it Hades? I’m sure there are other acronyms that could have been used.
