I’m trying very hard to be politically neutral here - but when an agency clarifies itself on a subject under its purvue, recent memory of one issue and they did it twice!…and industry does not act uniformly?! - That’s when an agency needs to do its job of enforcing regulation. As a veteran of several fintechs, the ‘up and comers’ if you will, I can say with clear experience our industry needs more regulatory oversight. The less mature AND mature segments of our industry still make mistakes that should come with more consequence, considering the impact to consumers utmost. I believe we need the CFPB TO ACT! If for anything to provide MORE clarity. Fraud and scams are up in ways that are unconscionable! Complaints are up! Big Court cases are firing up too! Honestly, has there been this many interesting legal cases that apply to payments?! Yay for sticking around Jake! Huge thanks to Ken Palla for tracking all of these important updates!

In a credit assessment process when conducting financial statement analysis using ratio analysis, as a financial specialist you needs to understand that; 1. Financial statement ratios are like criminals, they do not tell the full story until when they are 'tortured' to confess. 2. Therefore it is important for you as a financial analyst or specialist to apply the 3 basic principles called the ABC of criminology; - Accept Nothing - Believe no one - Confirm Everything. 3. The implication is as a specialist it is your duty not to accept anything at face value. You must do the probing and Investigations constantly and you will be able to detect any window dressing, fraud or error from an applicant and save you organization from entities that use 'creative accounting'.

The Internal Auditor performs for the benefit of the Credit Union and its members, an independent internal review and appraisal of accounting, financial, and operational activities of the Credit Union. This position’s primary focus is on compliance audits to ensure the credit union follows external laws, rules, regulations, and internal guidelines. Interesting article, for those in the consumer financial services space. https://lnkd.in/gGaH66yn The CFPB is embarking on a hiring spree, including an increase in the number of full-time employees in its enforcement division by 50%.  Director Chopra has apparently allocated about 75 new full-time employees to the enforcement division, and they are adding a 5th litigation team (in addition to hiring a litigation deputy, assistant litigation deputies, and other support staff). The hiring is one of the largest recruitment drives at the agency.
