Great to have Australia as a like-minded partner in our Indo-Pacific engagement 🤝 ❔ Have you heard about the EU-Indo Pacific Strategy? 🇪🇺 The European Union and Indo-Pacific countries have a stake in each other’s prosperity and security. Our regions share the same interest in upholding the rules-based international order – with the UN Charter at its core – and in supporting responsible cooperation in international relations. 🇪🇺 We support our partners in the region in seven priority areas: 📈 Sustainable and inclusive prosperity; ♻ Green transition; 🌊 Ocean governance; 🌐 Digital governance and partnerships; 🛰 Connectivity; 🛡️ Security and defense; 🕊️ Human security.

- The Leaders confirmed plans to resume the Strategic Economic Dialogue in 2024.  - The Leaders agreed to convene an initial session of a bilateral Maritime Affairs Dialogue. - The Leaders witnessed the signature of MOUs on Education and Research, Climate Change, the Australia-China Strategic Economic Dialogue, Further Enhancing the Implementation of China-Australia Free Trade Agreement, and Cultural Exchanges. - The Leaders will participate in the China-Australia CEO Roundtable meeting in Perth on 18 June. https://lnkd.in/gnqkb6XJ BowerGroupAsia

It was an interesting WAC session with Secretary Fernandez this morning. Two takeaways that I was surprised to learn: 1. the State Department’s level of interest and engagement in diversifying and securing US global supply chains(a post-Covid response), 2. Georgia has been the 2nd highest recipient of green technology jobs generated by the Inflation Reduction Act.

We had an intense and productive day of discussions yesterday at the VII Regional Conference on Trilateral Cooperation! More than 100 participants from over 15 countries joined us in person, with many more participating online. My key takeaways from the day: 🔔Local engagement is essential for achieving sustainable development outcomes. Trilateral cooperation promotes horizontal relationships, peer learning, and the sharing of knowledge and expertise. This approach fosters southern-led development and helps shift the narrative within the development cooperation community. 🔔Despite significant progress, there's still much untapped potential in this modality. On the other hand, the debate and engagement in Latin America and the Caribbean have advanced remarkably over the past decades. The region boasts numerous successful examples, capacity-building experiences, and innovative financing mechanisms, making it ready to share its expertise with the world. Parliamentarian cooperation is crucial to strengthening ties between the EU and Latin America and the Caribbean. This is the message that we want to convey during the 15th plenary session of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly (EuroLat) taking place in Madrid from 24 to 27 July. After the EU-CELAC Summit, with EuroLat we want to go one step further and make it clear that Latin America and the Caribbean are again a priority.

The Swiss Federal Council has presented its International #Cooperation Strategy 2025-2028. Based on long-term goals, it is highly flexible to respond to current crises.
