Excited to kick off the second leg of our Purpose Tour in Camp Hill! 🎉 Last week, our CEO Sarah Chavarria and her Executive Leadership Team dove deep into our core mission: improving health by providing access to quality care. "When we think about our journey to a health care company and a leader in oral health, our purpose sits at the center of that and everything we do will continue to map back." We had the privilege of giving back to the local community by assembling senior comfort kits and writing cards for our partners at Middletown Home, Homeland Center, West Shore Meals on Wheels and Schaner Adult Center. It's moments like these that remind us of the impact we can make when we come together. 💚🤍 #lifeatddins

    Individual oral health needs evolve throughout a lifetime, especially during pivotal milestones such as menopause. I shared further insights with Well+Good for their article on the oral health implications associated with this life stage. Hormonal fluctuations and a drop in estrogen levels can trigger numerous and often unexpected oral health side effects - most commonly dry mouth - as saliva production declines. This decrease in saliva heightens the risk of gum disease, tooth decay, and even tooth loss. These oral health issues can, in turn, elevate the risk of developing or worsening systemic diseases such as cardiovascular disease. However, preventative care and healthy lifestyle choices can help alleviate these uncomfortable symptoms and more.     Announcing the 2024 Gary D. Radine Scholarship winners: Taylor Donmoyer and Riley Chandler! This $5,000 scholarship celebrates the achievements of Delta Dental employees' children. We're proud to support their pursuit of higher education and their promising futures. Taylor Donmoyer, a history major and paralegal studies minor at Kutztown University, excels in sports, work and her academics. Her mom, Kathleen Young, celebrates her daughter's commitment and hard work which have earned her the 'Most Improved Player' award and now, this scholarship. Riley Chandler, heading to Montana Technological University to study nursing, has shown incredible compassion and dedication through her volunteer work with special needs individuals and children. Her mother, Brittany Chandler, is filled with pride at her daughter's drive in helping others. Congrats Taylor and Riley! 👏🏼👏🏼

    With Juneteenth approaching, our Inclusion Community ABLE (Alliance of Black Employees) have been dedicated to reaching our goal of 619 volunteer hours. Last Friday, Delta Dental volunteers partnered with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity for their Brush with Kindness initiative. Our team made a significant impact by repainting a home, bringing joy to the homeowners and showcasing our commitment to the community.
