Delphinus Engineering was a proud sponsor for the Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads (Virginia). On May 31, 2024, everyone had an amazing time at the 11th Annual Hearts for Heroes Fishing Trip! Hearts for Heroes seeks to provide our nation's wounded and ill veterans with the opportunity for a day of respite on the Chesapeake Bay. Veterans and their caregivers are invited on a half day or full day (their choice) fishing trip at absolutely no cost to them. For more information on this event, to become a sponsor, volunteer or make a donation to this event, please email Marc Michals at MMichals@ASYMCA.org or visit their website at: https://lnkd.in/ekw3G6-E

We are excited to kick off Freetrail's 3rd annual Memorial Day Fundraiser supporting Wounded Warrior Project. To date the FT community has helped raise over $7,000 and this year we are hoping to go bigger. We encourage any brand in the trail/running/outdoor space who will be holding a Memorial Day Sale to consider a donation to this effort. Memorial Day of course was originally a moment to honor those who have served their country and did not make it home. Not the unofficial kick off to summer. Or 40% off anything. This isn't meant to shame a company holding a sale. We get it. But please condisder a donation out of your profits. As a reminder this was originally born out our friend Ari Sonnenburg's annual tribute to his friends that he served with in the US Army. This year his effort is a big one. A 75 hour vision quest through the Netherlands to see how far he can go. Every day, 58 injured veterans and their families sign up to receive critical services and support offered by WWP. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, warriors and their families will never pay a penny for these life-changing programs. How can you participate? Oh how many ways! 1. Donate if you are able to. 2. Get your employer to match the donation if that's a perk that they offer. 3. Spread the word on social media with your friends and family (maybe a repost here?) 4. If you are connected to a brand in the outdoor world encourage a donation if they will be offering Memorial Day Sales. Let's encourage them and not shame them but remind them what this holiday is really about 5. Support Ari. Are you connected to a shoe brand? We are looking for a brand to donate shoes and gear to help him with this effort. Any leads are appreciated! 6. Go out and do your own adventure and tell us all about it 7. Host a podcast? Mention this effort! Thanks in advance. Here is the link to our fundraising page - https://lnkd.in/gA8PStTz

New Ypres League The New Ypres League is an Ypres based charity dedicated to remembering the fallen of all sides in The Ypres Salient during the Great War of 1914 - 1918. Remembrance in the Ypres Salient of today presents us with a whole new set of unique challenges. The last veterans of the Great War left us a few years ago but remembering the fallen in the Salient is still as relevant today as it was in the 1920s and 30s. Although the Great War ended over 100 years ago, the Salient still regularly gives up its grisly harvest. The remains of over 135,000 soldiers of the Great War lay unrecovered in the cold clay of Flanders, these remains are still being recovered every year. Once the remains have gone through the identification process, they are reburied with military honours in one of the many military cemeteries in the area. These ceremonies and the sacrifice made by these soldiers require official recognition in the form of wreath laying and the attendance of a standard bearer. In addition to the burials there are many ceremonies that require official attendance, anniversaries of major battles, special Last Post ceremonies, visits from VIPS all of which require official attendance. However, as time marches on, and age becomes more of a factor, there are fewer and fewer people and organisations available in the Ypres Salient to perform these tasks. It is vital that the sacrifice made by the fallen in the Ypres Salient is not forgotten and that a whole new generation of volunteers are encouraged actively to partake in remembrance activities. With this issue in mind, I am proud to announce that I have been appointed a Patron of the New Ypres League. To donate: https://lnkd.in/esxr4XBH James Stewart-Smith Classic Battlefield Tours
