Exclusive: In early June, Lockheed Martin UK announced its partnership with Cubic Defense, 4GD, KX, Ravenswood UK, Splunk and Turner & Townsend to bid for the British Army’s Collective Training Transformation Programme (CTTP). Lockheed Martin UK Limited and 4GD representatives outlined the key features of Alliance in an exclusive interview with Shephard Media. At first glance, Alliance looks like just another team run by a prime, pulling together smaller companies. Although it was Lockheed who decided to pull the team together, every company is equal in this collaboration. Alliance claims to be more of a collaboration than a partnership in how it approaches the competition and the strategic training partnership. Another apparent thing in the team is that although some of the companies involved may have experience working in defence, they would not necessarily be considered defence-focused (e.g.: Splunk and Turner & Townsend, KX and Ravenswood UK). It is precisely where Alliance sees the value in non-traditional defence organisations.

Exciting Developments in Live Training System The Synthetic Training Environment CFT is thrilled to share some insights into the recent Operational Demonstration at JRTC and Fort Johnson, where our Soldiers showcased their enthusiasm for Increment 1 of the Live Training System (LTS) capabilities, featuring grenades, claymores, stingers and mortars. Soldier Enthusiasm Unleashed: The response from Soldiers underscores the effectiveness and relevance of these critical systems in enhancing the live training environment. Operational Demonstration Milestone: This operational demonstration wasn't just an event; it was a pivotal moment in our continuous evaluation of these vital systems. As we push the boundaries of live training, it's crucial to add a touch of reality to the environment, and this demonstration allowed us to do just that. Senior Leader Guidance & Strategic Focus: Guided by senior leader US Army directives, our focus on improving combat training centers' live environment has been unwavering. STE CFT Director BG William Glaser said, "It's much more challenging to replicate the training environment in the terrain found in Fort Johnson compared to Fort Irwin, given the unique vegetation of the area." Tackling the Toughest Terrain First: Why Fort Johnson, you may ask? "We went to the hardest place first, and if it works there, it will work anywhere,” said Brig. Gen. Glaser. Fort Johnson's rugged terrain and unique challenges provided the perfect litmus test for our Increment 1 LTS capabilities. The Future of Live Training: As we celebrate the success of this operational demonstration, we're also looking ahead. The lessons learned from Fort Johnson will shape the future of live training strategy, ensuring our Soldiers are equipped to face the complexities of diverse terrains with confidence and precision. Here's to pushing boundaries, overcoming challenges, and evolving our live training strategy to new heights. Stay tuned for next installment of this six-part series. #Army2030 #LiveTrainingStrategy #SoldierReadiness #MilitaryInnovation Army Futures Command
