While these scandals are unfortunate, it's important to recognize that betting is an integral part of the sports industry, adding excitement and engagement for fans. Athletes and staff involved in illegal betting should be held accountable, but the actions of a few shouldn't overshadow the benefits that regulated sports betting brings. Instead of eliminating betting, sports organizations should focus on stricter oversight and transparency to ensure fair play. Betting isn't the problem; the lack of stringent controls and ethical breaches are. What do you think about enhancing regulations rather than condemning betting entirely?

Shohei Ohtani is the highest paid baseball player in the world right now. He is in hot water because of his connection with his interpretor who has a gambling problem. Ohtani is great player on the field but we will have to wait and see how this impacts his season with the Dodgers this year. Check out this article to learn more. Darin W. We are all familiar with the National League and the American League as baseball institutions, but are you familiar with the now-defunct Federal League? On the Daniel F. ADU Leader Transforming Homeownership | Empowering Communities for Equity Building and Rental Opportunities | Pioneering Affordable Housing Solutions
Fortunately, there is a solution. Building an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) on your property can offer several benefits, including: 1. Rental income: Renting out the ADU can provide a steady stream of rental income, helping to offset mortgage payments or supplement your income. 2. Increased property value: ADUs can increase the overall value of your property, providing a potential return on investment when it comes time to sell. 3. Multigenerational living: ADUs offer a separate living space, making them ideal for accommodating aging parents, adult children, or guests while still maintaining privacy and independence. 4. Flexibility: ADUs can serve various purposes, such as a home office, art studio, guesthouse, or long-term rental, providing flexibility in how you use your property. 5. Affordable housing: ADUs can help address housing shortages by providing additional housing options in urban and suburban areas. 6. Environmental benefits: ADUs promote density in existing neighborhoods, reducing the need for urban sprawl and supporting sustainable development practices.
DYK Arizona’s shortage of adequate housing leaves enough of our fellow community members in need of a place to call home to more than fill the stadiums for Arizona’s NFL, MLB, and NBA teams combined?!

What Shohei Ohtani can teach us about money It’s not every day that a baseball contract is so consequential that it could be featured in business textbooks. Then again, not every baseball player is Shohei Ohtani. The Japanese star’s decision to defer $680 million of his 10-year, $700 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers is an extremely large-scale version of someone getting you Taco Bell and saying “don’t worry, you can pay me later.” But, unlike a Crunchwrap Supreme, the price of Ohtani is not so simple. That $700 million contract? It’s more like $460 million to the MLB, which calculates payroll in terms of its annual average value. That’s still bigger than most other athletes’ contracts—but not quite the jaw-dropping $700 million figure on Ohtani’s contract. There’s also the possibility that it’s a massive mistake. If inflation hits 5% every year, a $68 million payout in 2034 could feel more like $40 million in today’s money, per Axios. But as Bloomberg’s John Authers points out, thinking about the time value of money is likely not top of Ohtani’s mind. In Japan, where Ohtani lived until he started with the LA Angels in 2018, interest rates are basically zero—meaning there’s no incentive for you to get paid now because the money’s value won’t change in the future. Big picture: Deferring 97% of your contract is not a move that any ol’ ball player could make. Ohtani is uniquely positioned because 1) his manifold skills make him more desirable than most other players and 2) he makes an estimated $50 million a year from sponsorships alone, negating the need for a large salary.
