So, yeah, those 2 days in December we were at Universal Studios (picture proof below). And, guess what? It made us better. Because when you take the time to see people -- see them in person and also just "see" them -- you work better together. It's true. It's way easier to misinterpret a Slack than an in-person conversation. It's way easier to connect when you know someone also loves Harry Potter or can talk for hours about favorite live performances through the years like you can. Or when you all taste that epic chicken dish together. And working better together brings all sorts of great results. This Inc. article on Carve Communications, Inc. is a great way to head off to Spring Break. Thanks, team, and see you all in a week!

Happy Thursday! My favorite day of the week! Thursdays are the only day of the week when I have no meetings to allow myself to reflect before I give it one last go on Friday. On a Thursday, I started thinking about a question I was asked some time ago. The question was, is inclusion just assimilation? My reply was quite the contrary; inclusion includes all as they are. The question reminds me of one of my favorite videos that I am sharing. It’s a little lengthy, but my clients always like it. It’s called Purl. https://lnkd.in/gwpWau2x When we focus on inclusion, we make space for a new perspective. We look for cultural ADDITIONS versus cultural FIT. It’s one of the reasons why the Inclusion Expansion is so critical because we are expanding our reach by bringing various lived experiences to include. Therefore, I bring experiences (i.e., scholar-practitioner, HR background, grandmother picking cotton in Mississippi, entrepreneur, etc.) that make me who I am. I bring resourcefulness, creativity, expertise, and an esteemed work ethic from these experiences. Hence, an organization reaps the rewards from all that I have experienced. Preparing ourselves to expand our capabilities, capacity, and commitment leads to sustainable growth and development. I find it to be my mission every day! Enjoy the day!! #inclusionexpansion #inclusionontheslopes #joyofinclusion #consultant #entrepreneur #hrprofessional #culture

Since its debut in December 2020, Bridgerton has been the talk of the town, captivating audiences worldwide with its bold storytelling, diverse casting, and anachronistic charm. However, as the third season unfolds, it seems that the once-unstoppable momentum may be losing steam. While Bridgerton's premiere season broke records and hearts alike, with its lavish sets, steamy romances, and clever nods to contemporary culture, the reception to season three has been more muted. Critics are divided, questioning whether the latest installment maintains the same spark that made the earlier seasons so irresistible. Despite its undeniable popularity, Bridgerton has never been hailed as highbrow entertainment. Yet, its impact on the cultural landscape cannot be overstated. From its inception as the first scripted show from Shondaland on Netflix to its status as a beacon of diversity in the often-staid period drama genre, Bridgerton has left an indelible mark. However, as imitators rush to replicate its success, Bridgerton finds itself in a curious position. What was once refreshing and innovative now risks feeling formulaic and derivative. As other shows attempt to capture its magic, Bridgerton must navigate the challenge of staying ahead of the curve while remaining true to its own identity. Yet, despite the criticisms and uncertainties surrounding its latest season, Bridgerton's legacy is secure. It has not only redefined the period drama genre but also served as a symbol of the streaming era's evolution. As we await its fourth season, one thing is certain: Bridgerton may be evolving, but its impact will endure for years to come. #Bridgerton #PeriodDrama #Netflix #CulturalImpact #EntertainmentEvolution #Thesocialtalks

Jack Conte surprised us all last week at SXSW by sharing an interesting take on the #YouTubeNewWave But first, what is the YouTube New Wave? Ryan Ng first described it as "A film movement aiming to democratize storytelling by recognizing popular social media genres, like vlogging, as a respected medium of artistic expression, on the same level as painting and literature." ➡️ What does a world look like where anyone, anywhere can tell stories with the tools they have in their bedroom? I think It looks like a world where people can use the internet as a tool to add more color, rather than add more noise. Currently, there's a massive gap in infrastructure and support for these communities. So, how can we better equip and empower the next generation of storytellers, artists, and bedroom filmmakers? I believe It all starts with community. Then, it's about finding the right mix of education and resources to help creators flourish. Jack has done an incredible job at being a pioneer in helping creatives with Patreon, but I believe so much more can be done. What does "more" look like? Well, at Creator Camp, we're on a mission to find out. Stay Tuned. 🏕️ -- #SXSW #JackConte #Patreon #CreatorCamp

The work culture in our organization is all about letting employees be themselves, allow their imagination to run free, and to keep learning, growing and exploring while working at Hypothius Picturehouse. ✍ This is a place to have fun, a laboratory that is a film studio. 🕵♂️ Our work culture is all about community-building, embracing our differences and similarities, not marginalizing groups of people, and building up one another's confidence. 💪 It's not about fitting in. ❌ It's about standing out. ✅ #workculture #missionstatement
