Last night, I had the incredible privilege of immersing myself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Nextplay Community event. 🌟 From the infectious beats to the delectable food, electrifying live performances, and inspiring keynote speakers, it was an experience that resonated with my soul. 🎶🍽️🎤 Being part of a space dedicated to uplifting the culture and experiences of black, Hispanic, and Latinx tech professionals was nothing short of remarkable. Here's a glimpse of the wisdom I gathered: 1. Be your #authentic self 2. There is a difference between a sponsor and mentorship. Sponsors created opportunities for people. 3. Be Intentional. Success starts with the goal you are trying to achieve. 4. #Advocate for yourself and leverage your network and relationships 5. You don't need to compare yourself to others, just yourself! 6. Asking for help is a courageous thing 7. You need to build #relationships #blackwomanintech #sdr #blackintech #networking #communityengagement

On this significant day of June 19th, we at OpenQQuantify honor Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. As we reflect on freedom and equality, we are reminded of the importance of ensuring that all communities, especially the Black community, have equal access to opportunities and resources and are given the same opportunities as everyone. Technology and electronics have the power to transform lives, driving innovation, education, and economic growth, if used maliciously, they have the power to control wreck chaos. At OpenQQuantify, we are committed to making sure that everyone, not just a select few, can take advantage of these transformative tools. We could NEVER see it another way! Community is more important then the likes of people that use technology to enforce control or their own agendas. Together we are strong; divided, we are weak. Our mission: To bridge the digital divide by providing accessible and affordable electronics and a platform the community can develop embedded systems and electronics on. To support STEM education in underserved communities, inspiring the next generation of engineers, scientists, and innovators. To foster an inclusive environment where diversity thrives and every voice is heard. This Juneteenth, let's unite in our efforts to promote equality in technology. By empowering the underserved community with the tools and knowledge needed to excel in the digital age, we can build a future where opportunities are limitless and everyone can thrive. Join us in celebrating Juneteenth and our commitment to making technology a force for good in every community. Together, we can create a more equitable and inclusive world. #Juneteenth #EqualityInTech #EmpowermentThroughElectronics #OpenQQuantify

Headhunting Engineering and Consulting Talent at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence | Amputee with a passion for DE&I | Proud to be an ally
🌍 DE&I in Tech: Our Collective Responsibility 🌍 The conversation around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) in the tech sector is more critical than ever. Companies like BAE Systems Digital Intelligence and others in the industry have a pivotal role to play in fostering inclusive environments and creating opportunities for underrepresented groups. We need to commit to ongoing efforts to support and elevate diverse voices within our organisations. However, the journey towards a truly inclusive tech sector must start even earlier. Our schools and educational institutions need to do more to engage and inspire minority groups to pursue careers in tech. Early exposure to STEM fields, mentorship programs and accessible resources can make a signigicant difference in bridging the gap. 🔍 How can we better support DE&I in our workplaces? 🔍 What initiatives can schools implement to ignite interest in tech among minority groups? Let's share ideas, experiences, and strategies to create a more inclusive future for the tech industry. #DEI #TechDiversity #Inclusion #STEMEducation #BAESystems #FutureOfTech
Earlier in the year, Theresa Palmer, our Global Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion met with fellow DE&I advocates at Bletchley Park, the home of coding, for Tech Talent Charter first roadshow of the year. Alongside Debbie Forster MBE, Karen Blake, Binda Patel, The Sutton Trust and Stuart Lynch, Justice Digital, Theresa delved in to the latest 'Diversity in Tech' figures and discussed key DE&I topics that are keeping everyone in the room hungry for change. More insights into the day are available in Theresa's takeaways from the event here ➡ https://lnkd.in/eTvjY7eH #DEI #DrivingDigitalDiversity #DiversityinTech .Lorna A. CAPSLOCK
