Hey LinkedIn family, 😊 I recently came across Heineken's powerful social experiment, "Worlds Apart," and it resonated deeply with me. If you haven't seen it yet, take a few minutes to watch it here: https://lnkd.in/eBgRC-fi In a world where divisions often seem to be growing, Heineken's experiment is a refreshing reminder of the power of dialogue and human connection. The campaign pairs strangers with opposing views, giving them the chance to find common ground over a shared activity (and in this case a beer, of course!). For me beer doesn't work in case you ask 🤣 What struck me most was how this aligns with the concepts from "Story 10X: Turn the Impossible into Inevitable" by Michael Margolis, a book 📖 I'm currently diving into. Margolis emphasizes the transformative power of storytelling and authentic connection. Just like the participants in the Heineken experiment, we can break down barriers and build bridges by sharing our stories and listening to others. As a startup co-founder, I believe these principles are crucial not only in our personal lives but also in business. Building a startup often feels like navigating uncharted waters, but by fostering open communication and understanding, we can create a culture where innovation thrives and impossible ideas become realities. 1 + 1 = 3 (free). My good mates at Two Dudes (dude 1 Tomas Tappin and dude 2 Michael McRae) have been a huge help to State Of Play. A sounding board for all things small business, growth, determination and 'real' purpose. As a late blooming beerpreneur I've been 'back to school' with all things tech, integrations, flows, and plug-ins. Lucky i've been well schooled in the art of having a chat and finding those a stage ahead of me to learn what to do, or at least what to expect. So a bit of reverse mentoring from the dudes 25 years junior. I met Tomas and Michael back at Heineken, both on the graduate program. They gave as good as they got, learning the trade and adding huge energy. I could see they operated at a pace faster than the global corporate treadmill.  They took the plunge to follow their passion. The dudes kicked off over 2 years ago on a mission to change a mans routine to change mens health. To look good, feel good and do good. It's working. This week they invited State of Play to support their October sales with a Nectaron Pale Ale in every on-line sale. How good are shower beers? If you are not sure, nows your chance to sort out your favourite face, with an alc-free beer to put a smile on it. Its a good choice. With Two Dudes and State Of Play, good choice brings change. Looking after yourself can happen with a couple of new habits.

The Heineken Behaviors have become imbeded in the very fabric of our organization and our people at Heineken Saint Lucia. It is the blueprint for how our team members show up everyday. Below, I discuss what it means to "Champion a culture of belonging". Belonging; a single word with so much power. In the professional and personal sphere we must foster an environment that allows people to feel like family. When we exude warmth and natural affection we easily win people and find the why in what we do. Hence, when it comes to fostering a culture of belonging it is never just my profession but it will always be my purpose.
